Re: Colin on Goff - Stafford
MVP always comes from a high scoring offense.
2024- Josh Allen (Bills 2nd PPG at 30.6)
2023- Lamar Jackson (Ravens 4th PPG at 27.7)
2022- Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs 1st PPG at 29.2)
2021- Aaron Rodgers (Packers 10th PPG at 25.6)
2020- Aaron Rodgers (Packers 1st PPG at 31.5)
2019- Lamar Jackson (Ravens 1st PPG at 31.9)
2018- Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs 1st PPG at 34.8)
2017- Tom Brady (Patriots 2nd PPG at 28.9)
2016- Matt Ryan (Falcons 1st PPG at 34.1)
Stafford is nowhere close to this award given the Rams PPG.
Goff could certainly win this year. In 2018 when Mahomes won, the Rams were second in PPG at over 30 that season. Not sure how many votes Goff got tho

Re: Colin on Goff - Stafford
First of all it's not a game. Its MVP voting, and I said they want to spread the money, that's why they use odds. Goff at this time isn't even top 5. He is +1500HellRam wrote: ↑October 12th, 2025, 2:27 pm Not trying to be a dick but here is a quick summary of how books work -

So yeah they make more money betting on fan favorites over actual favorites. Betting is psychology.
It's profit driven. Think about it...if everyone betted and favorites and won? Where does the profit come from?

Rams can get to 10th in ppg, Stafford like Rodgers, could have a shot. He just has to clean up his accuracyTruth wrote: ↑October 12th, 2025, 2:28 pm MVP always comes from a high scoring offense.

Re: Colin on Goff - Stafford
A couple of things. Imo the rams scoring will pick up as the season progresses. The last two years that's been the case. Stafford also has improved as the season progressed, as shown the last two years.
We will see. With that said, if I had to put money on it, I doubt either Goff or Stafford wins.
MVP more likely be Allen

Well sure and you can add Herbert, Darnold and maybe a few others.Cornell29 wrote: ↑October 12th, 2025, 2:29 pmRams can get to 10th in ppg, Stafford like Rodgers, could have a shot. But like OC said....at this point the top 3 should be Goff, Baker and Allen.

Re: Colin on Goff - Stafford
The weirdest thing about Goff is the Rams put up big numbers with him at QB in 2017 and 2018. Back to back seasons of top 3 offense in PPG. Then in 2019 the Rams were down to #10. 2020 they were #23 and he was gone that offseason.
So he showed he was capable of putting up loads of points but I think McVay clearly gave up on him after those final 2 seasons

Re: Colin on Goff - Stafford
I'm not buying it. Goff has played much better in Detroit behind their really good O line. When he was with us he played scared, couldn't stand in the pocket and developed happy feet.
I will take Stafford and the Super Bowl win over everything good you have to say about Goff.
How many Super Bowl wins does he have?

Re: Colin on Goff - Stafford
Stafford won us a Super Bowl that we probably wouldn’t have won.
That being said, Goff has developed into a really good qb. Goff always had the talent but he now has a level of leadership and confidence that he didn’t used to have.
Nothing against stafford but he is old.
So while I have no regrets about the trade, at this moment I would take Goff.

Re: Colin on Goff - Stafford
Not 1 player? Christian Mahogany played in all 54 offensive snaps (100%) during the Detroit Lions' game last night against the Kansas City Chiefs. He also participated in 3 special teams snaps (14%). Not a bad 6th round find..I watched did you? He's also started the last few games for the Lions.HellRam wrote: ↑October 11th, 2025, 12:10 pmEnnis Rakestraw has been on IR two years in a row and Arnold was demoted for being one of the worst CBS's in the league.Henry VIII wrote: ↑October 11th, 2025, 11:59 am
Draft picks yes..team friendly contract..no way Jose! 4 years at 53 per and 170 million guaranteed! with 212 million in total..doesn't seem overwhelming team friendly to me. Detroit restructured Goff's contract when he first arrived..but that was it nothing after that was team friendly in anyway..And to say Goff signed any team friendly contract deals like Brady did through the years is pure nonsense..Detroit's 2024 draft was widely considered successful, with the Lions receiving good grades for addressing their biggest need at cornerback by selecting Terrion Arnold and Ennis Rakestraw Jr.. While the team made a trade up for Arnold and a risky fourth-round pick of Giovanni Manu, the overall consensus is that they had a strong draft. Some injuries have put a damper on results. Maybe not immediate results but still a positive future.
Do you guys just make stuff up? Like really lol.
Not one player from the 2024 class will be starting tomorrow night.
Maybe we should watch the games before making an opinion on them.

Re: Colin on Goff - Stafford
He sucks!..too old, too fragile, too slow, too many over throws. But there's probably only 1 other active QB right now that can do what Stafford can to do in the final 2 minutes when the game is on the line. Do or die he is for me!..is he perfect no..is anyone?

Re: Colin on Goff - Stafford
He definitely doesn't suck, but I dislike the over thrown passes. But, in 2025, he's been straight up elite. When he's dialed in, he's hard to stop. And I believe that if Stafford and Adams gets in sync, we'll be better offensively. At least I hope.Henry VIII wrote: ↑October 13th, 2025, 5:13 pmHe sucks!..too old, too fragile, too slow, too many over throws. He’s def got a little wilder and off this year at times … but still, he’s elite imo.FelixTheStonerCat wrote: ↑October 13th, 2025, 6:33 pmHe definitely doesn't suck, but I dislike the over thrown passes. Re: Colin on Goff - Stafford
That’s on McVay. The Rams were 2nd/3rd in PPG in 2017 and 2018 under Goff. He certainly wasn’t ineffective in Year 1 and Year 2 under McVay. Year 3 they got worse and Year 4 was really bad.
I’m convinced when they gave him up they thought he was the QB of 2020, not 17/18.

Re: Colin on Goff - Stafford
The deal between McVay and Goff was mostly egotistical..Goff needed some maturity and a big dose of humility..McVay needed to come off his own little pedestal and realize he's not perfect..he has to adjust to players weaknesses and use their strengths..but once you get in McVay’s doghouse watch out it's over..Both were too stubborn and stupid to change..they couldn't accept each other's strengths and faults. You can go back to a few games when McVay started the backup QB because Goff had an injury to his finger or hand I don't remember..but McVay was going to prove his point that it was his team..and when zippy hurt his neck he was forced to put Goff in..and he immediately threw a touchdown if I remember correctly and then the look he gave McVay on the sideline was see I told you so..I'm still the man..but by that time the writing was already on the wall..Goff was as good as gone.

As fans I dont think we'll ever know what truly went down. But I would love to know. Your interpretation could be correct. Hell, it could even be a personality clash.Henry VIII wrote: ↑October 13th, 2025, 7:40 pm The deal between McVay and Goff was mostly egotistical..Goff needed some maturity and a big dose of humility..McVay needed to come off his own little pedestal and realize he's not perfect..he has to adjust to players weaknesses and use their strengths..but once you get in McVay’s doghouse watch out it's over..Both were too stubborn and stupid to change..they couldn't accept each other's strengths and faults. I do know this....when McVay wanted to start a lesser QB (Wolford) to make a point. I had lost a lot of respect for him at the time. I think both have grown since then.

Re: Colin on Goff - Stafford
You and me both lost a lot of respect for him..that was a petty move by McVay and he let his ego get in the way of what was best for the team..when the team Doctors said Goff was able to play..McVay was determined to show Goff that it was his team and his way or the highway..and the rest is history as they say.

As of now I have it as....
1. Baker
2. Goff
3. Darnold
After those 3 there is a gap. This is regarding MVP.

Baker at the top is correct BUT FOR RIGHT NOW...

1. Mahomes
2. Stafford
3. Allen
4. Bulldawgs Mom
5. Goff
6. Herbert
7. Mayfield
8. Darnold

Despite not having any real weapons, he leads the league in total tds and yards for a qb.
