Let me save you some time here, Cornell…it’s not even worth trying to debate this guy.

Have you not seen his other inept, ignorant, race bating and obtuse post?
Cornell was agreeing with him.
I know, but to a point. Duane dude is just exhausting. But, whatever… game day forums are always fun

I’m not making excuses for McVay’s strange calls, but imagine if the Rams would have kept Baker Mayfield.

Did you see what he just did to SF with his mobility and arm?

Go to week 6 other game thread. I couldn’t believe those two plays. First Bakers run for first down then that 50 yard toss and the catch of the year. Amazing football

McVay saved Bakers career imo

Maybe I'm missing something? But dude seems respectful. I know I dont like his off-topic post but its America. He's entitled to his beliefs. But the football post are solid in my opinion.

We don't need a echo chamber no matter how much NorCal would love it 🙃

Not what i was getting at all. You know me, and im all about freedom. People can say what they want. BUT, when you say certain things, there is consequences to those words…

it’s annoying when people keep discussing things when they either have no idea what they are talking about, or act like they know what they are talking about (but still completely wrong) or worse, when they do either and then bring up race or things that are completely inept.

I think you may have missed some post by this character… but none the less, it’s whatever. No big deal. Just gets tiresome

As for NorCal. Hes a good dude. Strong opinions is all, just like you and I. Like both you guys, so let’s not start up that fire again… 😜

Hope Oregon is treating you well bud.

Go Rams!

Its a combo of regression, and the league figuring his game out. Same thing happened to the Martz offense.

Im not on the "fire Mcvay" wagon, but when he steps down, I want a Vrabel type coach. Fundamental, physical football. New England was given a gift when Tennesee, for some reason, fired him.

I was hoping MS would had called it a few years ago so the Rams could have kept Baker. He's a rock solid gamer. Doing a lot with less down in Fla.

This is a great example of how both MS and DA are great but just not yet totally in sync with each other. Hopefully, after some critical reflection and practice, that will happen by the return from the bye week. We may be a bit spoiled since Nacua was in freakishly amazing sync with Stafford since the second pass ever thrown to him as a rookie.

McVay hasn’t changed one single bit. He is a poor play-caller and always has been. His response to it is always the same. He says that he did’t put the players in the best position to succeed and needs to work on that. Well the only thing that he can do to fix it, is to turn the offense over to the OC and manage the sidelines, but his ego won’t allow that.

I would take Stafford 6 days a week n twice on Sundays…….

If anyone watched Tampa’s game yesterday you saw MayField missing wide open receivers. Reason why that game stayed close. He does every Sunday like all NFL QB’s………

I wasn't a believer in Baker when he was here. I saw him as a quality backup/low level starter. But God damn has he really turned it up the last couple years.

As of today....he is arguably playing the best QB play of any QB this season.

The mobility mixed with his ability to scan the field. Man!

I’ll never forget that insane comeback he pulled off after joining the Rams just hours before playing.

Stafford in his prime. No question. I was looking at it long term. Either have Stafford at an extended tail end of career, or Mayfield in his prime. Im going Mayfield in prime, AND, Tampa got him at a much discounted rate for a QB.

Long term ok depending on your definition of long term.

My reply was just based on this year and remaining games n hopefully playoffs……..

I wouldn’t go as far as calling him a poor play-caller, but he’s definitely not a top 5 or a top 10 play-caller .

As a play-caller, he might be around 15-ish. But as a head coach, he’s easily top 3 to top 5. My issue with him is that he takes too long to make changes when things clearly aren’t working. He thinks he can fix everything and everyone — but sometimes, new personnel is what’s really needed.

Don’t agree at all. I think upland n Tustin work damn hard in trying to make this a family forum. At least this Rams talk forum.

So I just saw upland’s reply. I think you have tried to make this a family forum based on our conversations. Example is the comments made towards that Detroit fan a few years back. JMO………..

his tendencies are predictable, especially on the goal. He's a horrible goal line play caller, very good everywhere else.

First of all, why are we always on the goal line?
grinding and grinding, can we get a touchdown from 20 yards out ever

Stafford is the best quarterback between the 20s in football history

If you divide Stafford's total yards by his touchdowns, you will see what I'm talking about

Compared to any Hall of Fame or future Hall of Fame quarterback, Stafford needs a lot more yards to get a touchdown

He gets your yards, but not a lot of touchdowns

Here's what McVay rarely does on the goal line

run wide
throw a bubble screen
Throw first read passes
Try to get the first down in lieu of the touchdown

It's always Stafford deep in the pocket, throwing off his back foot usually high, or forcing a corner fade under pressure, he doesn't have the time to look at three options

Stafford goes through his reads and determines who to throw to.

Mcvay doesnt run a one or two read offense with a veteran qb like Stafford. Stafford has full control once the ball is snapped.

I agree, I would like to see some bubble screens.
I would also like to see some trick plays, I know if it doesnt work Mcvay will get bashed, but Lions, Chiefs etc runs one or two a game. Something to keep the defense off balanced.

Mcvay runs wide with Corum. KW is too slow to the outside.
