Kyren Williams contract update?
Does anyone have any insight to how close to a contract deal with K. Williams is?
McVay-" But I think behind the scenes, there has been progress in terms of getting closer to what the end goal is and that’s to be able to get him under contract. Whether that occurs or not, we’ll see and we’ll take that a day at a time and a conversation at a time.”
From what I read it sounds like things are moving in a positive direction from both camps.

Re: Kyren Williams contract update?
Now sure, but I found this write up on him 100% spot on...
Rams would be wise to wait until next offseason for Kyren Williams extension
https://www.turfshowtimes.com/2025/6/18 ... -extension
I just don't get why the Rams keep signing guys way too damn early. I mean, I get the side of its cheaper now, than paying more later (IF the players stock goes up). But gosh dammit, we've had the WORST luck signing guys way too early. We all know the history, so lets finally learn from it... imo

What a fabulous breakdown. You really nailed every part of this.. and the $33M 3 year deal makes sense and I agree... BUT, do we need to do this now, or should we wait?GlendoraRam wrote: ↑June 18th, 2025, 11:07 am Just finished writing this… long read.

We just have awful luck at pulling these triggers too soon imo. I just want to see him play this season, I feel like he would def be worth the $33M IF he fixes his fumbling issues.

We seem to always get burned on extending people before the contract is up. I would wait until mid season and see how the other backs perform.

I don't know when or if they will sign him to an extension. But I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't happen before game 1. Its possible they want to see if they will need him for beyond 2025. If Corum and/or Hunter can replace him on their cheaper rookie deals. If they think the RB room will be a downgrade without him they can sign him. If they think Corum and Hunter are ready to take the baton they let him walk in free agency.

Can he walk into free agency when he has a year to go on contract? I think KW may have an issue this year if rams don't trade him.snackdaddy wrote: ↑June 20th, 2025, 6:47 pm I don't know when or if they will sign him to an extension. Re: Kyren Williams contract update?
He can walk after this season. He'll be an unrestricted free agent next offseason if they don't extend him. So far KW seems to be content to keep playing while they try to work something out. No threats of a holdout. No trade demands. I think he'll play this season with or without a new deal. He's still young. I'd like to see him stay with the team for a few more years. As long as it doesn't cost too much.Jacksnow wrote: ↑June 21st, 2025, 11:14 amCan he walk into free agency when he has a year to go on contract?
