I did not realize that the trade clock decreases in time every round. Has a team ever defaulted and not met the clock?

Several years back i believe the Vikings were involved. It was first round and one team had the clock expire, and the next team had their puck in within 20 seconds

I still make fun of that draft with my Viking friends. They are still pissed about it.

Yes, the Vikings recently, pass 10 years or do, did not get their high pick in on time. I can't remember all the details.

May need some depth over in both sides possibly. Often overlooked but very much important.

More fun draft memories.

How many of you out there remember Ditka and the Saints trading ALL of their draft picks to move up for Ricky Williams? Something we saw only once and won't ever see it again.

Draft started at noon, Ditka was fishing by 2:00!

Plus the Saints' first- and third-round picks in the following year's NFL draft, that trade occurred back in 1999, I believe.

That was after the Eagles fans had booed the first-round selection of Donovan McNabb by their team, because they had wanted Ricky Williams to be drafted by Philadelphia instead.

"Those were the days, my friend..." :? ;) :geek:

Yep, he had some stupid wig on and smoking a cigar? I think Ditka got fired that year.

Yes-the Minnesota Vikings let the clock run out as the Tackle was going to WWF if the Vikings drafted him. Minnesota got the last laugh as they selected Chris Doleman with their "slipped" pick.

Mel Kipers boner for Sanders is MASSIVE. Just stupid. You think at some point, Mel would sit there and say ‘hey, maybe teams saw something I didn’t’ but nope. He just digs in deeper.

Mel, you’re a hack. Stop already. Every time you talk, we don’t need to be reminded that Sanders should have been top 10 pick in round 1.

ESPN… getting worse every year. Such a garbage network. Disney has destroyed it.

I havnt turned on ESPN for this draft. How did Kiper get a job? I could do better than him if I batted left handed.

Snead was quoted as saying the draft was getting thin so they moved up and got some players they targeted. Not stoked on the 4th next year but it may be worth is.
