Defensive Strategy
A lot of analysts are giving the Bucs a hard time for their "0 Blitz" call last night. I actually support an aggressive strategy. The opposite of the aggressive strategy is exactly what the Bills did last night. At least the Rams had to have a perfect route and perfect throw. Listening to Kupp that he is never supposed to get that pass. He runs it to clear out the middle since Stafford won't have time to throw it deep. He said Stafford put so much air under it that it allowed him to catch up to the ball. Not to mention he could have broke right or left on that play.
Result of the Buffalo Bills game is another reason I hate prevent D. I would at least prefer going down swinging from a Defensive perspective.

Re: Defensive Strategy
The strategy is solid. Williams used to do that in late game situations when he was D coordinator. Key is the DB's have to be deeper, they were too shallow on that last play which let Cupp get over the top. Key is you have to let the QB know all out is coming and get home before he can load up to throw deep.

Re: Defensive Strategy
Arians stated after the game there was missed communication on that last pass to Kupp. Everyone who was suppose to blitz did not.
I saw last night that Stafford said give McVay the credit on that last pass to Kupp. Not pass itself but him having the offense go straight to the LOS and not huddle up after the first catch to Kupp. Clock was stopped because Kupp went out of bounds but Stafford said McVay was yelling at him to get to LOS and run play. If you remember michaels was still commenting on replay and when they went live ball was already snapped to Stafford on last pass to Kupp.Again clock was stopped they didn’t have to go no huddle there……….
Brilliance of McVay. He did not want Bucs D to have time to get everyone on same page during a chaotic moment. Trusted his QB and players. What other HC doesn’t huddle up after that out of bounds pass to Kupp…….

Good point. It is the little things that wins games. It was definitely chaos.NorCal RF wrote: ↑January 24th, 2022, 8:15 am Arians stated after the game there was missed communication on that last pass to Kupp. Everyone who was suppose to blitz did not.

Everyone else would want their offense to huddle and settle down. McVay had the brilliance to think during chaos and trust his players during chaos knowing what it would probably create for the Bucs D……….

Re: Defensive Strategy
Devin White didn't blitz or cover, if he would have blitzed it could have changed the play but hey I know we made plenty of mistakes
