Empty Set
Why does McVay continously go empty? It hasn't worked all season and it has resulted in many turnovers. Let's keep people back to pass protect. It doesn't add anything to our team.

Re: Empty Set
We're really not good at this. I can understand going empty if the RB starts in the back field and the defense shows min rush max coverage. Then you move the back out. We just line up in empty and wing it against whatever we face.

Re: Empty Set
People harping on McVay to run the ball more but that didnt help us at all tonight. We ran for less than 90 yards all game and still won.
We just got to come to grips with this team going as far as Stafford takes us. It’s not on McVay or yhe running game. It’s on Stafford making winning plays with no mistakes, and the defense not being completely soft.
Mission accomplished tonight

Re: Empty Set
It says one thing - PASS.
For as smart as everyone says McVay is, this is just pure stupidity. He’s not fooling anyone but he keeps doing it.

It’s not the negative that some of you think it is as long as you can pass protect……………

Re: Empty Set
You are forcing a team to cover Kupp, OBJ, VJ, Higbee, and either Skowronek and or a RB within that down………….

Re: Empty Set
Stafford likes empty set formations, he doesn't like alot of pre snap motions and rollout throws etc.
Mcvay is trying to do what good coaches do, which is swallow their pride and build the offense around his their player. Stafford plays a huge role at what plays the rams run, Mcvay said he appreciates having a guy like Stafford helping him put together his gameplan. Mcvay respects and appreciates Stafford and what he brings to the game from a game planning standpoint. As Mcvay said he likes knowing that if he calls a bad play, he has a QB that can fix it. That's how much lead way and respect Stafford has from Mcvay.
