College football pays pretty well. No salary cap or draft to worry about. Long term success is much more likely in college than the NFL. Oklahoma is a hotbed of recruiting. NFL jobs may be higher profile but it’s a Not For Long league.

most NFL guys do not want to deal with the recruiting. OU is going to have a tough go for a while. the next 2 recruiting classes are bailing because of Riley's departure.
