Just resigned 3 year, $42M! I think it’s a good signing and one less position to focus on in the draft. - 2 Been thanked

For some of us the PFF grades apply when they are good or bad. Not when they “fit an agenda”…….
Why have they become the bible of if a player has played well or not……….. - 2 Been thanked

January 5th, 2026, 10:37 am Secondary January 5th, 2026, 10:37 am Secondary
Beginning of week so I thought I would start a thread on the biggest issue with this team going into playoffs……….
Many have stated that Sneed n McVay did not address the secondary after last season. I can say fair. I’m not certain who we passed on at CB last draft as well as the mention by brasil on did not bring in a mid tier veteran CB. Would like to know in you all’s opinion who those players were both in last year’s draft and in FA. I Don’t know so asking you. But…………….
I can recap what they did do last off season as I know many of you can………….
Starting with trading first round pick to Atlanta. Never will I say that was a bad trade. And go back and read in here what most of you said at the time of the trade. You liked it a lot. This team will, as we all know, need to address what is next at QB soon as that trade certainly can help do that. It was a good n needed move. Granted this year’s group of QB’s dont look as promising as it once did but still a good trade. It can at the minimum be traded for another future 1st round pick.
Actual first pick last year. I got it and still do. We have been complaining in here for years that we need a top tier TE and I still say Ferguson will be that player. I’m rather certain of it. But to be fair ok those in the know can you share if you know what CB’s at that spot would have been a better pick. I’m asking not being sarcastic……………..
So what did they do last off season. Sign Landman. Granted cheap contract but no one is going to say now not a great signing. Again do we need to review posts in here from the past on our ILB sucked………..
Sign Ford. Another great signing, Not cheap mind you but again do we need to review posts in the past yelling for a big run stopper DL………
Extend A. Jackson and Dotson. Again great signings. Just go back to the Atlanta game last week and be reminded what the OL looks like when they are not in there……………
Signed Adams. Simple question. What would this receiver unit look like if they had not signed him. Let’s be honest it is Nacua n the TE’s when he has not been in there……………..
We have complained for years run the ball. And it is valid point. Well they extended Williams. Granted they could have waited but that hasn’t been a bad signing…………..
They spent $$$ on needs. Sure they could have spent it on the secondary but they probably viewed it as something they didn’t want to do in fear of the above would have been lost. Not easy decisions from their perspective I would guess. Easy for others to second guess and fair to also. And my bet is they felt good about Durant, Forbes, etc. More so than their WR unit after Nacua……….
Now agree you had Atwell that didn’t need to be signed as well as you have not played Hunter at all. Hard to argue a waste this season. So again just asking what names could have been paid in FA with the $10m that TA got as well as what CB’s instead of Hunter…………
No question this off season this team needs a serious addressing to its secondary………….. - 2 Been thanked

November 3rd, 2025, 10:04 pm Re: Chase B…. Going, going… November 3rd, 2025, 10:04 pm Re: Chase B…. Going, going…
Key on when he said “the decision” at about the 1:35 mark.
Not sure if he meant anything by that, but I do tend to key in on words.
You are correct . I re-watched it and when he says the " decisions " , it KINDA ( hopefully ) means that changes are coming.
But yeah, I’ve never seen McVay fire a coach mid-season, so I’m not getting my hopes up. We’ll see. This time though, it’s an EPIC, COLOSSAL failure — so maybe, just maybe, he finally pulls the trigger.
I say 40 % chances . :D

November 10th, 2025, 6:41 am Re: McVay : Great O adjustments November 10th, 2025, 6:41 am Re: McVay : Great O adjustments
Mcvay continues to modify/change his offense to find success. He changed the offense and made it productive once again. One of the things I like about Mcvay is he isnt stubborn. He will modify/change his offense if it is no longer working. He isnt one of those coaches who falls in love with a offense and will run it, even when it isn't working. He has the ability and willingness to create new schemes and formations, to best adjust to defenses as they evolve and counter his style of play.
Mcvay became Rams head coach with a explosive scheme using 11 personnel and wide zone run game.
League caught up to that style, so after the SB loss, the rams went more with a 12 personnel run scheme with condensed formations.
Rams obtain Stafford and shifted to a more spread-out, pass-heavy scheme with quarterback Matthew Stafford, utilizing shotgun and pistol formations
In 2023 rams prioritized a physical gap scheme run game, pretty much ending the previously used wide zone scheme.
In 2025 (this year) rams have moved to more of a 13 personnel scheme (which is why Mcvay been adding tight ends over the last 2 years with Park, Allen and Ferg). - 2 Been thanked

November 12th, 2025, 10:25 am Re: Rams adding YET another TE... November 12th, 2025, 10:25 am Re: Rams adding YET another TE...
It's amazing the McVay continues to improve. He really stopped using the TE position as something of a weapon- rather than a blocker recently. Only to do an about face and go in strong and confuse the f out of our opponents. He's the best. I still think that the Puka injury was a Godsend...that's when the O opened up. Maybe he felt inspired to try the 13 more. It's great to see our team with a whole new and VASTLY improved look on offense. This game is gonna be HUGE- as the west is on the line. - 2 Been thanked

Not with that secondary.
They beat the Seahawks with that secondary,as well as the 49ers,Lions,Jaguars,Texans,Ravens,Coltshad the Super Bowl Champs beat but for a blocked FG,had the niners swept but for another few fluke plays
Yea,they can beat any team in the league WITH that secondary, sorry.
Would have beat a few more good teams with this secondary if Special Teams wasn't equally as horrible. - 2 Been thanked

August 31st, 2025, 6:51 pm Rams vs Texans - Pre-Game Discussion Thread August 31st, 2025, 6:51 pm Rams vs Texans - Pre-Game Discussion Thread
With the Rams kicking off the 2025 NFL season against the Houston Texans, let's start the discussion for the opening game on September 7.
For the Texans, their offensive line received one of the lowest PFF grades in the NFL for the 2024 season, ranked 25th overall. This poor performance was characterized by a struggle to protect quarterback C.J. Stroud, leading to the second-most sacks in the league, and an inability to run the ball effectively. The team subsequently traded key veterans, Laremy Tunsil and Shaq Mason. They added Cam Robinson, Trent Brown, and Jake Andrews. They used a second-round pick on Aireontae Ersery from Minnesota, and their offensive line is now a significantly different and potentially improved group for the upcoming 2025 season.
The Texans' overall defensive grade of 74.9 placed them among the league's elite defenses for the 2024 season. With Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter providing a solid pass rush, and the secondary with players like Derek Stingley Jr. and Kamari Lassiter making key contributions to the team's strong pass defense.
Keys for the Rams:
1.) Start fast and establish the running game.
2.) Protect Stafford with short, quick throws to the edges.
3.) Use two TE sets for both running and passing plays.
4.) Load the box and protect the edges to contain C.J. Stroud's off-schedule plays.
The Rams are favored by 2.5 pts.
I think the Rams win this game with a predicted score of 24-17

September 6th, 2025, 2:46 pm Re: Texans @ Rams Game Thread September 6th, 2025, 2:46 pm Re: Texans @ Rams Game Thread
Week 1 is always hard to figure because you THINK you know what you've got, but you don't really know on the same hand. Paper meets reality. In recent years, mass injuries or not; McVay's offense has been slow to get going. It hasn't been until weeks 4 to 6 that they have done so. You can't help the injuries, but to me, this has to change this year. Because if they can get home field in playoffs, Then this is a Super bowl roster.
The defense has 4 starters all capable of getting 8 or more sacks, and from any place on any given snap to boot. They have 2 players capable of 5 or more sacks to go with the starters. It's going to make an opponents offense predictable. But only if Sean's offense does their part as they are capable of. - 2 Been thanked

This is what I dont get, so many talking heads have the Rams almost flawless... yet, I scratch my head because apparently they dont watch the Rams special teams.
Have they improved, yes... but this is still our weakest link...
Actually I think our coverage unit is good. It’s the kick off strategy that sucks. And that is probably on McVay………

November 28th, 2025, 3:54 pm Rams got a gift from the Bears today! November 28th, 2025, 3:54 pm Rams got a gift from the Bears today!
By the Bears beating Philly it really helped the Rams keep the first seed.
Bears have a very tough schedule w 2 GB games, SF and a Det. game doubt they sustain only 3 loses all tough opponents.
Detroit lost yesterday so all the Rams need to do is win 5 of the next 6 and we secure the #1 seed and a bye in the first round and home field throughout the playoffs.
Seattle even if they beat us we still get the #1 seed due to common opponents and we TB and they lost to TB. Philly was the biggest worry because we lost to them so if we both ended up with the same record they would get the #1 seed.
We just need to take 1 game at a time and focus on the opponent at hand. We should hopefully beat Carolina, ATL, both AZ games it's Detroit and Seattle we really need to bear down on both like the Rams have a lot to play for. Detroit to stave off Dallas who is charging and Seattle getting the first seed.
Let's go Rams. - 2 Been thanked

September 17th, 2025, 3:03 pm Re: Lot of disrespect for Rams against Philly September 17th, 2025, 3:03 pm Re: Lot of disrespect for Rams against Philly
Regarding respect - I think we are getting plenty. I've heard many talking heads say that with Stafford healthy, this team can beat anyone. And most polls have us in the 7 or 8 range.
Regarding respect for THIS game. Guys, let's be honest. Philly is the Super Bowl champ and beat us twice last year - putting up SIX HUNDRED RUSHING YARDS IN TWO GAMES. Until people see a reason to believe different, we have not earned respect in this match-up...yet. I'm totally fine walking into the Linc as the overlooked underdogs. September 25th, 2025, 11:14 am Re: Colts @ Rams Pre Game Thread September 25th, 2025, 11:14 am Re: Colts @ Rams Pre Game Thread
Stafford is pissed off and the Colts have no pass rush. If Avila is back, I see the Rams scoring at least 35. Conversely, the Rams Run D has been great. I think they relatively contain Taylor(below his average) and this will force Indiana Jones/Danny Dimes to beat them. I foresee a "deer in the headlights" scenario like the one that played out with Darnold in the playoffs last year. Colts coming in riding high. Away, non-conference game that they don't really need to win. Rams win going away. - 2 Been thanked

I feel the coverage isn't the best for sure, but get more pressure earlier on the QB that will help the secondary. Getting out to a good lead forcing detroit to throw more which makes the dline to focus on the pass rush. - 2 Been thanked

December 10th, 2025, 6:06 pm Re: Rookie TE Ferguson : what is going on ? December 10th, 2025, 6:06 pm Re: Rookie TE Ferguson : what is going on ?
When the last time the rams had a tight end that can get open down the field? I like Higbee but he was more of a get open short to mid type of tight end, that was a good blocker and run screens.
Unlike TuTu, Ferg fits the offense. He is a big body that can line up as the slot wr or te. With that said, we agree that time will tell.
What about the throw from Stafford on that Ferguson catch! 18 yards, tight window, right there ..
And Everett was the Last TE we had who could get open down field!
Agreed. I remember that deep pass Everett caught against the Chiefs in the shootout.
