Lots of truth in the depiction of a soft, coddling HC who does not expect/ demand accountability from his players and coaches- also gives foundation to the theme that the Rams are a soft team that lacks a physical nature to their approach as a football team. McVay alone can change this nature within his team. - 2 Been thanked

April 25th, 2025, 8:13 am Re: Reaction to Trade. April 25th, 2025, 8:13 am Re: Reaction to Trade.
First of all, these bozo's grading these drafts are not always right. They miss more than they hit. I don't think you can grade the trade accurately for 2-3 years minimum. Go back and look at trade/draft rankings from 3 years ago. Most of them were wrong...good and bad. My point is everyone is guessing at this point.
Now as for my guess/gut feeling, I was not a huge fan of the trade. Next years first is only equal to this year second round pick. Some of that will depend on where the Falcons end the season. Falcons have a decent team (beat Philly), and they play in an easy division. They play 10 teams this year that were under .500 last year. Best case scenario is they pick #15 next year...average case they land around #22-26. IMO, Falcons got instantly better last night and filled a huge issue with their two picks. Their biggest hole was no QB pressures and they filled it.
I thought there were several good Top 15 players left that we passed on. Specifically, Sparks and Campbell who went right after our pick. I think the drop off from those players to our pick in the 2nd round is pretty huge. I know we usually draft well in the later rounds.
Being a fan/follower of BOTH teams, I actually have to lean toward the Falcons in this trade. It was a little bit of reach, but they needed to fill a big hole. Edge rushers really drop off after the first round. I guess I was just hoping the Rams would grab a difference maker in their spot. We have a good team, and I am not sure our additional 4th rounder and 7th rounder can even make our team.
Yes, Rams leadership knows much more about football than I do. I trust them. Just a little disappointed. We need a SB win this year. Let's see how Starks/Campbell will do compared to who we pick up in the 2nd round.
And these fans giving opinion on the trade could be called the same as those grading the picks……..
Everyone is guessing right now. Everyone. But find me more than a person or two who doesn’t think the trade was damn good by the Rams? He’ll even the niners fans n best writers fell it was a hell of a trade for the Rams. Include Seahawks also.
Some of you act like this was a 5-12 team last year. It quite possibly will be soon if they don’t address the QB position after Stafford. And just me if the trade was about that then I’d rather do it in next years draft then this years.
We have for weeks in here said what’s next after Stafford, they quite possibly address it last night, but we would rather have a LB or a safety………….
Oh, my opinion (and fan opinions) are probably much less accurate than the professionals. Completely admit it, but even the smartest ones bat around .500.
I guess my point was I think we are 1-2 players away from a SB run/win. I think it was more likely that we got that player at pick #26 vs #46. Clearly McVay/Snead don't believe the drop-off from 26-46 was that significant. I don't think people should get too excited over a "1st round" pick when it could easily be 24-28 pick. (Falcons have an easy division, especially with Saints issue at QB.) - 2 Been thanked

Uh, I do not like the FA market. Slim pickings, which means it will be over priced.
Seeing this list, just screams the need for the Rams to draft 2 corners with 2 of their first 4 picks.
This^………

August 11th, 2025, 8:24 am Re: Bulldawg's boy Stetson Bennett looked great! August 11th, 2025, 8:24 am Re: Bulldawg's boy Stetson Bennett looked great!
I thought Stetson looked pretty good....He showed poise in the pocket (no happy feet), looked off his receivers, head was moving around looking downfield not at the rush, slipped in the pocket well, showed nice touch, and made good decisions.
A lot to like
Basically his 2nd year, and likewise, the progress you hope to see from a 2nd year QB.
We got an extra year out of A'Shawn Robinson because of COVID. I don't think it's fair Bennett got credit for his rookie year when he was NFI from training camp. IMO we should get that year back and he shouldn't be a FA until after 2027. - 2 Been thanked

November 11th, 2025, 1:57 pm Re: What is wrong with our Pass Rush ? November 11th, 2025, 1:57 pm Re: What is wrong with our Pass Rush ?
I started this topic as a legit rhetorical question based on the performance of our pass rush to date. I accept that one plausible answer to the question is a coaching scheme by Shula . We are 7-2 and very successful in scoring D. I am not a huge blind believer in PFF grades for our front 7 Personnel to date and like to factor in what I see with my own eyes. Our tackling on D is improved from last year and that is not debatable- so IF it is more a matter of less pressure / fewer sacks from our front 7 players than last year - perhaps ( a lot or a little by system design) than we are used to seeing. Mac Jones was 33-39 and that was shocking on its face value. If scheme based , in some indeterminate rate, ok and hope we instill in Darnold the bad memory on his part from last year. The Brian Flores point is an interesting one.
Solid reply IMO………
As said previously, we played last Sunday the #1 offensive player in the league in offensive touches. And the 2nd in receptions prior to Sunday. And CMC is a RB not a WR. Granted no question IMO Shula was playing the typical let’s give them FG’s n hold them out of the EZ because he knew they couldn’t stop Stafford. I’m not always a big fan of this. And it did not work to perfection Sunday. But…..
If one really takes a look at what it looks like Shula was trying to do after the fact it makes some sense. CMC? Lowest rush per average Sunday for him. Also 3rd lowest yards per catch for him last Sunday. Anyone questioning he was the Rams target to stop first n foremost? Of coarse he was and they did. 96 total yards defines he didn’t go wild. And if you go back n watch the game there were numerous times on 3rd down one of the pass rushers peeled off to become the 9th player in coverage. Hard to see live but fact is the game plan was to eliminate big plays by the niners. Control CMC……..
Sacks? We are still 8th today after getting zero Sunday. I think we are ok. Again a few in here need to see big picture in regards to game to game scheme…….
Again solid reply by you. - 2 Been thanked

September 9th, 2025, 10:41 am Re: More evidence the "D" is becoming elite September 9th, 2025, 10:41 am Re: More evidence the "D" is becoming elite
Rams need a new DC for 2026, might as well put that out there now. Shula will be gone.
Make him the highest paid DC @ 5m per and problem solved. My bet he would stay. That would be a big pay increase…………
Issue is, many times its about taking the next step and ego w these fellas... but also, $5M is nothing, as you know there will be some team offering $8-10M next season being a HC. The league LOVES poaching McVays staff... and they offer a hell of a lot for them to leave.
Again, if Shula can just look at Staley and Morris, maybe that helps us keep him a bit longer.
IMO, he will be gone by next season as a HC... His work and what he has done since taking over a bad Morris Defense, and made it pretty damn good is enough to earn him a HC... BUT, and its a BIG BUT... can he keep this momentum going with our Defense. Long season, we shall see - 2 Been thanked

November 24th, 2025, 9:14 am State of the League... November 24th, 2025, 9:14 am State of the League...
Dallas, Detroit and K.C. all coming back yesterday to prevail.... The Cowboys and Chiefs trip me out, they are both literally two different teams... We all know anything can happen when you have Patrick Mahomes as your QB, so I expect them to slip in the playoffs... Dallas, I have no clue. Who the hell knows what teams show up next week...
To me, it's all about THREE things... that is health, continuity and consistency... and this is where our Rams come in... they literally improve every game. And the best part is, if one group isn't doing well, like our offense last game, then our D picked up. OR when your ST's falls flat, our Offense picks up the slack, OR when our Defense is a bit off, ST or Offense picks things up.
The Rams are amazing at this. When one group is faltering, other groups reach down and pick up the slack. and to me, when you have consistently, continually and health... NOTHING can stop you...
So, right now... Rams are the most complete team in the league. Health wise, we're fine... and the continueaty and consistency is off the charts. BUT, one thing McVay said yesterday that has stuck w me all ngt, when he was asked about where we are now, he said 'Who was ranked first last season after week 12?" No one in the press replies ... "Sean says 'EITHER DO I".... so who the hell cares about where we are now, it's what is still needed to be done.... VERY WISE words by coach here.
IMO, Job is FAR from over, lots of work to be done... but right now, we can revel in the success, but you are literally only as good as your last game. So, onto Carolina... early game, tough game... but we got this.

November 30th, 2025, 2:25 pm Re: 9-3 November 30th, 2025, 2:25 pm Re: 9-3
Disappointing.
Worst D performance by the Rams all year. Worst performance this year by Stafford as well.
Lots needs to be fixed, time for coaches and players alike to get at it. What needs to be fixed is on film, now fix it.
Pooh was banged up and hurt but that just means Rams needs depth big time in the run stopping area. This style of play (smashmouth, play action, keep the opposing offense off the field) that Carolina, Bears, Niners, Green Bay and Seattle play, isnt going away.
Shula need to come up with a scheme to slow it down. - 2 Been thanked
