65:/35 49er Fans Sunday

I’m not throwing any crap anybody’s way from this forum because most of us are die hard Ram fans. My gripe is with fans of Los Angeles selling their tickets to 49er fans for the NFC Championship! You have to be kidding me. That is the ultimate embarrassment and insult to all Ram players and coaches to once again have to prepare for crowd noise in their own backyard for a game like this. What a joke if the reports are true about these percentages.

Hey. They're turning 500 bucks into two grand. Pretty good rate of return

Disgrace indeed

Stephen Spiewak of Vivid Seats cautions against equating where NFL ticket buyers live with what team they support. Spiewak’s company has created a proprietary algorithm that uses “more than simply geography” to project what percentage of a crowd will be rooting for each team.

Sixty-five percent of fans at SoFi Stadium on Sunday will be supporting the 49ers, according to Vivid Seats’ initial projection. That forecast caught even Spiewak by surprise since Vivid Seats estimates that the average NFL crowd is roughly 85 to 90 percent in favor of the home team.

Why don't other teams do that? If the game was in SF, would Niner fans sell their tickets? Niner fans are willing to pay top dollar to support their team but not Rams fans?

Why bother getting home field if you have to do a silent count anyway. Why were so many fans here upset about not getting the 2nd seed? Rams still have to use a silent count despite being at home?

This is the NFL, this is a great rivalry, this is the fricken NFC championship game, this is the second largest metropolitan area in America, this is a beautiful new stadium, this is a very exciting team. This is as good as it gets. So wtf is this about? As an east coast person, I just don't understand it.

I don't get the issue. Rams don't have a big dedicated fan base in LA. It's just that simple. Front office is in the process of trying to grow the base and probably why they went with new unis to try to appeal to new fans. Anyone know what percentage of crowds are individual season ticket holders? Who on this forum are season ticket holders?

You don’t get the issue?? Other than the SB, this is the single biggest game of the year. There was plenty of support in Cardinal playoff game but Rams now have to go to silent count in there own stadium one game away from the SB and you don’t understand the issue? There lies the problem right there with LA fan base. Not all of them but apparently a majority of them. It’s disgraceful to team and die hard fans

I don't like it either. In fact, it sucks. But these "fans" are selling to the highest bidder, and then watching the game at home. Wouldn't happen if they were playing Seattle, or Tampa. Just so happens that SF has a wide spread, hard core fan base. LA doesn't have that. Really only is one way to quiet that stadium, and it's up to the players, and coaches to do just that.

Well that LA fan base certainly said they couldn’t wait to have their team back home and to buy tickets in January of 2016…………..

Again it happens in no other NFL city. None! And then you add a team that has had 5 straight winning seasons and 4 playoff appearances in those 5 years………

They don’t deserve the Rams…………

Toast you know I’m a big fan of your typically rock solid on point posts as far as this issue goes, I agree with the reality that We don’t have a big dedicated Fanbase I think the original poster was asking why the f***ck not?

I remember watching playoff games in Jacksonville and Charlotte a few years after these teams were expansion teams they had a hometown fan base,

They didn’t have an iconic history dating back to the 40s with dozens of Hall of Famer’s they didn’t have the second most populous city in the United States they didn’t have a Super Bowl championship
Decades of dominance

4 years after the Rams relocated a Super Bowl bound GSOT was all blue and gold at the EJD, making 3rd down impossible.

I get It the Rams left LA for 20 years, I didn’t complain in 2018 when we went to the Super Bowl and still had a 50-50 fan split in the coliseum
for most of our games.

But at what point do we stop making excuses for the LA fans

Over the last five years the Rams are one of the top three teams in the NFL

There’s no question that they made more of an effort to win now than any other team in the league

They have stars all over the place

They have the most modern, best stadium in the NFL

They have a huge population with plenty of disposable income

Buying a season ticket package is not cheap I can’t imagine that 65,000 people are down to the last couple of hundred bucks so that this is such a financial windfall for them to scalp yo Niner fans

I live in New York I took my son to one game this Season at great expense, flights, hotel, dinners, tickets, Ubers

Enough already LA show the fukkkkkk up

unfortunately I agree. This is definitely a Lakers and Dodgers town. It is going to take some time and WINNING A SB to get loyal fans into SoFi. Niner Nation is large and very loyal due to their success. Ram fans are going to have to realize this weekend is going to be a sea of Red and the only way to shut their asses up is get an early lead and take them out of the game.

Approximately what percent of fans in SoFi week 18 were 49er fans?

Hearing it may be 65% 49ers fans this Sunday is disappointing. But I expect the Rams to be better prepared for it this week. They seemed caught off guard last time.

Oh. So a 30 year drought is "ok" then to the exquisite L.A. fan? Such nuance and intelligence the Los Angeles fan exhibits. The Rams won (in L.A.) in '51. So 70 years is too long a drought, 30 years is not. Got it. We'll FIND that magic number yet. Seriously, PBS should do a Documentary of the Los Angeles sports fan, the most intelligent and cunning and selective in the entire United States.
30 yrs 50 yrs don’t matter , Dodgers we’re here , they don’t just got relocated … Dodgers run LA … LAKERS run LA , they have rich history, tradition, many many HOFers whom played for them …what exactly did rams do to make their fan base stronger ?

Don’t get me wrong RAMS has always had their loyal fans in LA , but to think just cuz They are making the playoffs all of a sudden they will out number RAIDERS and NINERS fans in CA … I am just stating the obvious, I am not wearing my Rosie glow fan glasses …

U win a sb this yr and see how dramatically their fan base will get bigger .

Excellent post!!!! 100% Spot on.

I have been quiet about this issue because I know I am still a bit hurt from the move. My intent with this post is to give as objective of a take as I possibly can. I understand money enough to understand that it was a great business move, and that the Dome in STL wasn’t up to lease agreement, and that this team belonged to LA first. All facts, but we were loyal to this team. And showed up for this team. My family had season tickets from 1997 until the day they left for LA. Yes even during the really really bad years we were there.

A lot of LA people take unnecessary shots at STL every chance they get ( which baffles me. I mean you got the team bro. Why kick the guy/city when you won the girl). But LA needs to be held accountable for this embarrassment to our entire fan base. If this team was in STL there’s NO way this would happen. And we know they aren’t coming back yet still a fact.

Go to YouTube and re-watch the STL home playoff games. I just did last week, and brought back great memories of losing my voice in that Dome That place was crazy with blue and gold and screaming fans.

Fact is if the Rams aren’t getting the support from LA now they never will.
