Exciting excerpt from Aaron Rodgers to Denver article

If Rodgers does join the Broncos, the landscape of the NFL will change overnight.
The AFC West would immediately become the toughest division in football, if it wasn't already. As a conference, the AFC would be an absolute gauntlet, between the aspiring dynasty of the Chiefs, a Bills team that came within a coin toss of beating them, the ascension of the Cincinnati Bengals, and a slew of contenders with MVP talent, including the Baltimore Ravens, Chargers, and Tennessee Titans.
Adding the best active quarterback in the NFL to that mix is a terrifying proposition in football terms but should make for some awesome games.
Even bigger would be the crater Rodgers would leave in the NFC. The Packers would enter a rebuild, with no apparent heir in the NFC North.
If Tom Brady chose to retire, the NFC would suddenly be without the two best quarterbacks in the conference.
Such a dramatic swing would leave the NFC wide open to emerging teams looking to rise and grab some glory, or we could be looking at five years of sustained dominance by the Los Angeles Rams.

I could definitely get on board with that.

Rodgers is either going to retire or come back to the Packers. What a lot of people don't realize is HE IS NOT A FREE AGENT. Packers will ask for at least 4 #1's and no team out there is going to give up that much. I could see him retiring for 1 yr then coming back.

Honestly... I could actually see a team giving up maybe two #1's and two #2's. Not sure you can give up more as per NFL rules because you can only trade your rounds 2 years in advance? I could be wrong. But teams are soooooooo desperate for a franchise QB. Its crazy.
Just imagine Denver, Pittsburgh, Houston, Tennessee, Las Vegas or even Miami adding Rodgers. They would instantly be the frontrunners.

going to take a lot more than that. hell look what we had to give to the Lions. Rodgers will warrant at least 3#1's and probably a couple of @2's. it will be a Herschel Walker like trade. that is why I don't think it is happening

Rams will be in mix again next year again.
Much to the chagrin of some "Nellie's" here?
I’ll bite Brook. Can you get me a big stud guard, a sideline to sideline linebacker and a safety who can stop the run? Then I’ll start talking about dominating

Not sure why GB would let Rodgers go it would be bad business. I don't see the logic for Rodgers to go to Denver even with Hackett there. That division is already really hard. Staying at GB at least another year makes the most sense because Detroit, Minnesota and Chicago are not remotely a threat. Dante Adams may have a decision on Rodgers departure since his contract is up. AFC West makes the least sense. Seattle, SF, NO, Det., Chicago, Atl, Tennessee makes way more sense.
The goal for Rodgers if we wanted out and GB was reasonable needs to be which team is ready to win with the current pieces or which team is close and the division he is going to is easy. What if Brady retires just say NFC South is wide open. He leaves GB and the NFC North is wide open. I wouldn't go to the NFC West, AFC West or AFC East.
This is a big decision.

they won't let him go. even if AR demands a trade the trade demand from GB is going to be enormous. who is going to trade that much away for a guy who is going to play for 2/3 more yrs

Agreed--not to mention that the guy is an arrogant, obnoxious 'prima donna,' thus very likely to be a distracting and negative influence in terms of the locker room, even if he's a hero to the local fans... :( :?

We can get some of that in the draft and we have some of that on our roster already with EJ 50 getting healthy but we obviously don't "Have" to get any of it - we are in the NFC championship this year with none of it LOL
