Morris needs to stay!

Ok, i have been waiting to hear the props for Morris and the defense but it hasnt happened unless i missed it in my half drunken state. The defense, once again won the game for us. By all means the offense wasnt terrible EXCEPT the crucial turnovers. We knew TB was going to get in the end zone but we helped him. Once again, the offense was outstanding but made the mistakes, the defense won this game. Not being critical but giving credit where credit is do. People posted about get rid of Morris this week.... I say...wrong answer!

Eh...as I mentioned in another thread - the KC/Buffalo game makes Morris' soft defense look pretty stout.
Although the defense did play pretty well (especially when considering the offensive turnovers they had to overcome), I think the defense could be much better than what Morris gives us.

i hear you Ants, but it is his first year. He's definitely has some playmakers but it's obvious they play for him. He really seemed to settle down and take control of things these last few games. The way he use to jump around on the sidelines, i dont see that, i see a focused coach making adjustments. I'm telling you, we dont want to lose this guy.

Well he inherited the #1 d in the NFL, lost JJ added Von, it’s not the number d now and we have a closing problem

He's making adjustments it seems. Honestly, it feels like Rapp has been our problem. Reeder still stinks. We need him on sidelines. Let's see what Morris does next weekend against a 2 time losing opponent. Better adjust to Deebo and the run game.

I’m not a fan. The players stepped up big time today but i’m not sure how much of that was due to Morris. Let’s see how the next game plays out. If we can stuff the 9ers run game and pull of the win then maybe i’ll start to lean your way. As of right now i’m not there.

I think he schemes like shit against the 49ers they are an outside leverage run team and he runs four two against them occasionally bringing a seventh Man in the box it’s just ridiculous

Defense doesnt have a closing problem, the offense has a closing problem.

Exactly... how much of that was due to Morris. When the offense steps up do you ever ask how much of that was due to the OC.... well, McVay? Can you really say that you are more confident about the offense doing their job next week than the defense doing their job against the Niners. Not bashing anyone. I'm just trying to get props when props are due. Our defense is dangerous!

Interesting post...I don't think he will get poached this year. AD seems to be playing with greater joy and abandonment this year. I've been critical but they came to play today and Brady was never comfortable. I sure hope he can come up with something to derail the 9er ground attack.

Niners are a huge test for him to show what he's learned and how he can game plan effectively.

He's had two looks at them now and has the players to shut down their offense if they are deployed correctly in my opinion. Having Jones and Howard available at the same time could be big for him. Nick Scott has had a huge playoff run so far.

Defense is middle of the road and if Morris stays they will be middle of the road next year IMO.

Yep.
The D isn't horrible...it just seems like they should nail things down a bit better.
I think a lot of the yards and point surrendered were near the end of games when the Rams already had the game wrapped up - like the 1st Bucs game and the Texans game. Then there were games like the last SF game - ouch!

Morris is fine. The safety position needs a upgrade. The ILB position with a healthy Jones and Howard should be good to go. Reeder is the weak link as shown by his missed tackle again on the goaline.

Morris scheme got Reeder in the perfect position to make the goaline tackle and force a turn over on downs. Reeder missed. If that was London Fletcher or even Mike Jones, game would have been over.

Truly shows how much Niners are in the Rams’ heads and how Rams refuse (so far) to match Niners intensity. Plus the Niners know that the Rams can squander leads even when some say “it’s over”.

Rams can rip this monkey off their backs, stomp it, throw it in a hole and bury it Sunday evening in Sofi. It’s probably not exaggerating to say a win erases three years of Frisco head-to-head dominance and could set the tone for the franchise for the next half-decade.

They really need to show up Sunday and take no prisoners.

They have the talent, do they have the will?

Not a great matchup for the Rams. Frisco will go after Williams and make him tackle. I have to say that Williams is soft. He doesn't attack the run. It's an issue and I see no fix for this. Defensively it's a terrible matchup for the Rams. They will just have to outscore them. Rams need a big Offensive day to win.

he stays because for the most part he rushed 4 guys and they did their job? Rams dominated the line of scrimmage against a banged up OL. they played great but IMO he still has to go

Aside from beating up several sub-500 teams and the enjoyable demolition of the AZ Cards, this defense is yet to play a full 4 Q’s without mind farts like the Evans (Ramsey) TD or the 2nd half soft zone TD drives. Morris has Von Miller, AD, Floyd, Weddle, Fuller, E. Jones, and Ramsey. They ought to be better than Buffalo & KC. With a few like Jones and SJD back this week, he should be at full force. Let’s play 60 minutes against SF then talk.

Agree about Williams, but the Rams scheme Frisco like garbage, why does Seattle beat them all the time, awesome defensive talent? no, more linebackers, we run a 4-2, niners send kittle or juszczyk out to keep our LBer from filling the edge and then its their WR's against ours and deebo/mitchell just needs to break 1 tackle

haha! You are delusional. Every guy that plays for Morris raves about him, but he isn't good enough for most Rams fans. Can't wait to hear you cry when he leaves for a HC job and the next guy isn't half as good as Morris is.

Hey D...welcome to the board

I have been wrong before so.....

I just kinda like the more aggressive D coordinators and Morris is more of the bend but don't break style....and I would be OK with that if he played closer to the LOS instead of giving up the 10 yd cushions. I will say the last couple of games the BB's have been lining up closer and I noticed that....maybe it was a feeling out process or he wasn't comfortable with the personnel.....IDK the reason, I just know I didn't like it.

BTW....you aren't the first person to call me delusional
