HellRam wrote: January 17th, 2022, 9:42 pm Tough call! He's earning a huge contract possibly.

Woods is a great locker room guy, blocker and just intangibles. Hard to lose a guy like Woods. That said, OBJ is a elite playmaker and hof type talent.

Can they keep both? Not sure they can..
I have no idea what to make of this situation. Would I want him back..yes.. Are there enough footballs to go around with "Tree's" coming back... That's up to Odell. On that one I am 50/50 at best. Also Jefferson is continuing to develop. They will have to have money to re-sign him. So on that point... I think they part ways. I dont think Odell would ask for star money.. But even the solid veteran average is to much when you have a young developing guy at the same position.

I'm imagining that someone would be unhappy about limited touches, like DeSean Jackson was earlier in this season, remember that?

Plus Odell Beckham, Jr. would likely turn out to be prohibitively expensive, given our team's significant salary-cap issues... :( :?

He is going to have to be willing to give a big team discount…….

No knock towards him but I doubt he will………

Are they playing for free. Hendo is the Michel replacement. Woods and OBJ line an either or.
I certainly hope he IS NOT . Hendo is not HALF the player Michel is . I hope they can release hendo and sign michel and I don't think he will be that expensive , for sure we can afford. Now... OBJ is another thing ...I agree OBJ would require money we might not have , BUT if he can give a team discount ...dude has been in nightmare situations before so he just might be enjoying the ride enough to take less money and stay .

You only have so many years to get your $$ brasil……

Agent won’t permit him taking a significant discount…….

To stay Rams will have to $$………

Don’t see where the $$ comes from when you have FA coming up like with the OL……….

That could happen . But Kupp / Woods / OBJ would be most insane WR trio in the league by far . VJ can be number 4 .

True that . But again , he has been in bad spots before with other teams , and who knows , he might not be THAT expensive even though he is having a great season with us . Something like 6 Tds in 7 games or something like that ?

Kupp/Woods/OBJ
$45MM IN likely salary FOR 3 WRs, don’t see how the Rams can do it

I think OBJ has 2 good years left in his legs so if the Rams can give him a big deal with minimal penalty for cutting him after 2 years then do it

No reason to even think about it till season over, too many intangibles.

Main thing right now is continuing to find ways to increase his production. Cards started early double teaming Kupp and Staff took advantage by finding Beckham.

OBJ was a big part of the win tonight but he still only had 4 catches on 4 targets and none after 12:50 in the 3rd (although he did throw a sweet pass to Cam at 12:12).

6 in 9………

He has been great. Saved our season IMO. Much respect how he has handled his business with this team considering I didn’t want him……..

We will see. I just don’t see him staying. Again not because both parties won’t want to stay together but at the end of the day this team doesn’t have enough of what he will need to stay……..

I get where brasil is coming from.
I just don't think he'll give them the happy to be here discount you're hoping for because he hasn't had his payday yet and that will be priority one.
No way the Rams can pay him with it's current state of affairs and stay competitive.. Other key components would have to be sacrificed to meet that payday..

If it's true that OBJ is loving it in LA and we can't find the cap space to accommodate him then having the 2nd team in the city might just work against us once this season is in the books.

I don't see OBJ adding much more than Woods stats wise and Woods is a better blocker, but having that jump ball target in the endzone adds SO much to our RZ offense.

If OBJ does leave, we need to replace that.

I don't see how the Rams can afford either OBJ or Michel. What about Miller? Rams spent a lot of draft capital on him.

Don't we have huge money coming off the cap this offseason-Goff and Gurley? If so we try to keep some of these super stars we've brought in to make up for our lack of draft capital....

Yes we do even with that the cap is a $$$hit show
Jalen, AD, Staff, Floyd, Kupp, Woods count for 125MM or so and no way out of those deals
Just signing the FAs is going to be a monster task
Allen, Corbett, Boom, Darious, OBO, Gay, Gaines of course Whit?

Huge Woods fan, like we all are, but fact is OBJ does things that few receivers including Woods just don’t do………

Woods MUST remain!!!

That said, I'm becoming an OBJ fan. He always catches the ball!! Rams need to keep both...and Van Jefferson too!

IMO, the only way Odell stays a Ram is if Woods doesnt. They're pretty much the same player and keeping both does not make the Rams better. In fact, keeping both means they sacrifice at another position. I think it actually sets the team back a bit by paying both players, to be a Ram. I like what OBJ adds to the team, but I'd rather use the money elsewhere if Woods is 100%.

Whit is signed for another year…………
Have to win the SB this year, that way Whit can retire.

And no where has he indicated he would retire if…….. The man IMO is one of I honor my contract which means if I have another year remaining I’m playing that year…….

You think he will play another year if the rams win a SB? I think he retires on top and preserve his body. I could see him playing another year, if the rams dont win a SB.
