Jalen Ramsey got torched on Sunday!

He’s the one who left his man run free on the touchdown pass thrown by Debo Samuel. Morris was chewing him out on the sidelines. He also got beaten by Samuel for a long completion on the game tying drive. He got caught trying to jump another route. Rams STAR player didn’t shine too bright on Sunday. Hopefully he will come to play against the Cardinals.

He deflected the pass and got that insane pick ( in the same play ) at the end of the game that gave the offense the chance to get back on field and take the lead . Just saying . But yeah , he got burned a few times . Still the best corner in the league by far and Morris is still an idiot .

Agree that Morris is an idiot. Ramsey had the big interception but he didn’t play well on Sunday. When you’re best player in the secondary doesn’t perform the rest of the secondary is going to have a bad day. Morris has no clue and he continues to play people out of position. Rams definitely need to address the secondary and defensive coordinator in the offseason.

100 % agree. I think the fact that we lost fuller ( who is the signal caller ) made things worse last sunday . Mcvay said that most likely Ramsey will be the signal caller from now on that fuller is done for the season . Let's see how that works .

JR is just trying to do too much sometimes. He's a stud. Missed a crucial play at the end there. Overall he makes plays and always tackles.

Ramsey got caught trying to do too much. He was trying to make a play. Ramsey seemed to have lost faith in the system and in some of the defenders and now trying to do too much to make a play.

Idiot might be harsh. The Rams were 15th on points allowed include the pick 6s and turnovers in our own territory. Hell, Staley had the 29th scoring D this year. You still need the players which the Rams dont in the secondary or ILB.

I will say Morris's use of Rapp has been idiotic. I won't argue that one. Trading Kenny Young was a mistake as well.
Hard to compare to staley . He doesn't have AD ...ramsey .....etc etc . I think Morris is pretty bad because you can't continue to do the same thing over and over and expect different results . As soon as we have a lead he starts playing his soft prevent scheme and we ALWAYS get torched . ALWAYS . Much like Wade , He plays the game scared and not to lose instead of winning . This defense is suited for a more aggressive style , the one that staley used . I am not saying Stayley super aggresive style is always the best thing as we know he actually LOST games for the chargers this year with his insanely aggressive play calling style . But when playing defense , this bend but don't break stuff won't just cut it for most of the time . Gotta be more aggressive , and specially more creative . I don't see good blitzing packages by Morris , I don;t see stunts to confuse QB and o linemen , I see a basic prevent defense most of the time , combined with poor tackling ( truth be said the tackling issues were here even before he arrived ) so I will give him a break on this one . But I do think he is pretty bad as a DC . With the talent we have on this Defense we should be TOP 5 in every category .

Like said I dont love Morris but don't think he's as bad some think either.

I definitely don't agree with the top 5 D comment. We have one stud in our secondary and the rest are average or below. Our ILB continues to be a weak spot. Just too many holes to be premier. I was hoping for top 10 this year. We were close to that but I do feel we should be better then what we are.
I do think the talent is enough to be top 5 . The secondary outside Ramsey is average for sure , although DW has been playing better lately . ILBs can't cover , true . but our D line SHOULD be the best in the league ? AD , gaines , Floyd and now von ??? cmon .... Anyway , there is not a single NFL team that won't have holes , they will all have weak parts and some of them , despite that, still place top 5 on most stats . This defense has had too many stinkers now . IMO , coaching matters way too much , more than most people realize . I think Morris needs to go as soon as this season ends ( and he probably will ) .

I won't have any complaints if Morris is gone.

But I definitely dont see having a top 5 D with players like Rapp, Reeder, Long, Deayon playing the majority of their snaps. Our pass rush is good, we were 3rd in sacks. We also had the 6th best run D. So we performed where the talent was at its best and we sucked where it wasn't. We lost 2 of our top 5 players on D from last season and didn't adequately replace them and it showed.
Hard to disagree , specially with the last sentence .

Well Fuller will hopefully be fully recovered for next year. Same with Rochelle, who has a high ceiling. Williams I don't get. He's just not NEARLY as good this year. But he can certainly be part of the team. The others can go. Maybe keep Burgess if we ever get to see what he can do. This year will be uphill from here without Fuller. JR cannot cover everyone. I would throw away from him all game.

I don't recall Staley being super aggressive either...He comes from the Fangio tree which is more rush the 4 guys and blitz very rarely.

I agree that Staley dialed up the blitz more than Morris....but the concept was close.

Agree . he is super aggressive ( and it hurts him ) thought , when calling plays on offense with the chargers.

Does Staley call the plays on offense? He has a defense pedigree so that would be unusual

I think he does call the plays . Even if he doesn't , some of the decisions are up to the HC and he had some terrible decisions this year , actually LOST a few games ( and missed the playoffs ) because of those decisions .

I agree...the buck stops with him....but

Remember when our ex ST coach bones called for a fake punt and didn't make the first down and the camera caught McV yelling at Bones on the sideline?

Some coaches get autonomy...but they still have to pay the piper....as for Bones, he was gone the next year.

I think its some analytics nerd kid (not Staley, but an actual nerd sitting up on his computer in some box) calling the plays on both sides of the ball for them there Chargers....
I don't think Analytics guys call plays...too much time away from their computer

BUT....I believe you have a great point....McV is showing signs of being Analytics driven as well

End of the season Morris needs to be replaced with either Flores or Fangio doubt it will be Flores. We have a ton of talent on defense yet to me they are not being maximized especially DWill/Ramsey.

at some point in time people, at least some of you, the responsibility is on the players. they have not played well as a unit this year consistently. I am not a fan of Morris but JR has been burned multiple times this year. He is still a stud but you can't blame everything on Morris.
