Not sure if this was posted already, pretty in-depth explanation. Honestly, my first inclination was to blame Ramsey. Guess I was wrong.

There is no excuse to hit your teammate like that. Settle it on the sidelines with the coach making the decision on who plays where. It's pretty simple. Jesus Christ, I can't believe people are arguing this shit.

Agree. What the article explains is what happened.

Either way Ramsey handled the situation wrong. You don’t hit your teammate in the defensive huddle on the field. If Rapp is out of position why didn’t the coach correct him from the sidelines. Ramsey is a great player but sometimes it seems like his actions are extremely selfish and self centered. How do you think he would have reacted if Rapp hit him? He needs to just do his own job and let the coaches coach.

Team leaders take control on the field..Ramsey said something and Rapp smarted off...Ramsey checked him...there you go....I don't have an issue with it

It's apparent that some of you guys never played competitive sports. This is not as big of a deal as you guys are trying to make it out to be. The punch happened on the first drive and the defense played well throughout the game. We don't know Ramsey's and Rapps relationship and we may never know. Watch the games and be entertained. If it didn't effect the game why does it matter, let the rams handle whatever internally.

Rapp lined too far back... and it angered JR bc Rapp was covering grass, leading to mismatches. I bet it wasn't the first time this happened. I'm thinking it's the play call and it's Rapp being worried about getting beat.

not sure what that has to do with anything... I don't think the punch was a big deal, what I wanted to know was why it happened. And the article explains that, moreover how the defense reacted after the incident.

My post wasn't directed at you. I just don't get why some people are so infatuated with drama that has no baring on the outcome and seemed to be resolved internally.

Here we go with the condescending BS. Nope sorry, it's never been okay to do this - show up your own coaches, your own teammates like this. The replays were shown all day on national tv. So, sorry. It's up for discussion. He already got one free pass when he was screaming at his coach....... Sure, he is a great player, we are in first place and he has his money -- so we are fine. But you know when this stuff affects the outcome of games? it's when things start to go south that this kind of stuff makes it unravel. Then when it starts to unravel, the prima donna's like him are the first ones to bail. You'll see. It''ll happen with this guy. We already have a track record. Great talent but already we see glimpses of the ahole inside of him, waiting to come out.

I hold my breath after every play Ramsey is in on that he's gonna get a flag. He's always extra-agressive and taunts too much.
Yep.
Maybe that same attitude/fire is what also gets into opponents heads, helping him be perhaps the best corner on the planet...but it's a hold your breath for a flag all game long :o

I’m not happy with players fighting amongst themselves. But someone has to hold these guys accountable. Rapp has been the weak link in the secondary all season. It wasn’t the right way to do it, but it’s about time someone put him in his place.
Boy do we miss John Johnson. Just imagine how much better this defense would be if he were back there playing center field. I know we were limited on money and we had to make a decision between JJ and Floyd. I think because we had better depth at safety than we did at linebacker, we chose Floyd, but i’ve always thought that Johnson was the better player. Rapp will never be able to fill his shoes.

Johnson better than Floyd a bit of a stretch. Very close.
OLBers was a weak spot...now with Floyd and Von that leak in the Dyke is repaired.
Rapp looks like a liability but I don't see them bringing in a FA to take that spot....they may/should draft for future...but I see Rapp still manning the position next year

I rather have Floyd. Pass rushers are hard to find especially ones that knows how to set the edge. There were cheap safety options out there but the rams didn't sign them. I wish they would have.

thank you for the link...it does clearly explain the issue...Ramsey wants to win, puts it all on the line and will call out whomever is not on the same page, I don't have a real problem with that, the D moved on and played a solid game.

Bret, the writer of the article, you are spot on! I too am a critic of Rapp this season. I am guessing the reason he is not making "mistakes" lately as he has been earlier this season (missed tackles and coverages) is because he is looking out for himself. Meaning, he plays safe, where he plays far away from run support and covers only deep passes, keeps everything in front. He doesn't make plays. Plays safe! I thought he should of been replaced earlier this season with Terrell Burgess or even Robert Rochelle 4th round pick, 6'2" 195lbs.
As for Ramsey, I admire his talent and leadership! That push on Rapp, shook up the team to be more committed and focused. Spot on analysis! Thanks!

According to the article it not only effected the game it changed it to a win.
But lol at the opening sentence:
“
While some fans may have expected a blowout win against the Baltimore Ravens in their home field M & T Stadium, that was never going to happen.”
Lol crediting a slap for the win but forgetting that three Stafford turnovers made it a close game.

Yup
It's easy to not mess up and keep everything in front of you when you are covering grass most of the time.

My opinion completely changed after reading the article - even Reeder pointed out to Rapp that he was too far back. Hopefully Morris gets this corrected, this will be critical in the playoffs.

I agree with the premise of your take. I was in the Navy several years, back then things got "settled" in the "Bos'n Locker" when divides like this occurred. Whether he or she was superior in rank or not. In the real working world that we all do today, Jalen would be fired and rightfully so. In professional sports or the military... Jalen was spot on if the article's findings were correct and Rapp was doing his own thing. I will say the defense played a lot better after that incident. I agree on that point the article states for sure.
