I remember when he was selected, some questioned his deep speed. VJ since being drafted has shown plenty of speed to beat defenders deep.

Some scouting sites accurately pointed out that his speed on tape was faster than his 40 time at the Combine.

The naysayers, at the time of Van getting drafted, was that he was a reach, the rams didn't need another wr, and why didn't they draft Denzel Mims instead?.

Mims stats are below

McVay has done really well in selecting WR's, a position he knows best I think, which makes you wonder if maybe Atwell will turn out to be something eventually.

Apart from a few rookie'esq mistakes, this lad has done a solid job for the team.
He has got behind oppo db's on a few occasions, something I don't remember Josh Reynolds doing on too many occasions.

Yes, he's not a big body like Reynolds was, but why do we need that size when we have Higbee & Blanton and for the most part our Offense is built for speed anyway and that's what he has in combo with his fine route-running skills.

Fantastic pick with a great pedigree behind him.

It really surprised me when we signed DJax and some said he was the missing speed to take the top off.

Van seems fast enough.

You may be right. McVay seemed disgusted with Atwell's work ethic; and made comments about his lack of progress before he got hurt.
