We better not sleep on MIN
Not to look past AZ (or anyone else for that matter) but I watched first half of the PIT-MIN game and Vikings looked pretty good - their rushing attack worries me as does their short-intermediate passing game - it feels like they are a team that plays right into our weaknesses on D....now if McVay is able to establish run game and stick with it - maybe we win by scoring and controlling TOP....here's hoping the lessons learned in the JAX game (and the previous 4 losses) carry over....

Re: We better not sleep on MIN
They shouldn't go to sleep on anybody in the league really... The Steelers Run D is ranked 30th... the Rams 7th
No way the Vikes run for 200+ yards on the Rams...
The fact that the Vikings D, @ home, let the 21st ranked Steelers Offense run up 375 yards and 28 points and almost come all the way back from 29 points down bodes well for the Rams 6th ranked Offense, 5th in points a game..
The big mismatch is the Rams Passing is ranked 3rd and Minnesota's pass D is ranked 30th...
Rams should win easily if they don't self destruct AFAIC.

Re: We better not sleep on MIN
Agree with your point about Minny. They have crazy offensive weapons all over the place. I also agree with the balanced offense. With that said, I think it still comes down to the defense. the Rams winning the TOP means little if they are scoring on 8 minute drives, only to allow the opposition to score on 5 minute drives. This week's game will show a lot. It needs to prove a lot. For me, this is basically the first time since Mcvay came in that I just do not trust this team against a quality opponent.

Re: We better not sleep on MIN
I get your point about comparative rankings - it's just when I saw the Vikings get yards on the ground in chunks and then convert 3rd downs time and again with short passes, it was just a really deja vu feeling....and if Stafford struggles - even without turning over the ball - it's not going to be pretty....Agree as well that Monday night will tell us a lot....Rampager66 wrote: ↑December 10th, 2021, 7:36 am They shouldn't go to sleep on anybody in the league really... Minnesota is a mediocre team. Every game is a one score affair.
If the Rams believe they are the better team (which they should) then that's the kind of game the better team wins down the stretch.

If we are really a SB level team, we will take care most of the rest of these games..if not all of them. It's that simple. We would win if we are a top 3-4 team. Not like we are losing close games to elite teams. We gotta just go out and play real football with less mistakes. From coaches to players. No excuses.

You should have watched the second half. That game was a barn burner!

This place is a swirling mass of contradictions. We talk about our squad being SB caliber, SB or bust...then fret about a game against a 6-7 team with Kirk Cousins at QB.
If you are truly the former, then you should not worry about the latter.

Re: We better not sleep on MIN
I know I've said this before but... The Rams have only won 3 times in MN. Once in 68, once in 78 (I was there) and once as the last game of the season in 2006 when they were in St. Louis to end up 8-8. Lost I think 19 times!!! For whatever reason they don't play well in MN....... That's at the Met, Dome or the new stadium... Hoping this is the year!!! Gonna be there!!!

Did you read "the state if the rams thread" or the threads over the last 3 weeks? Who is talking Super Bowl? Most feel this team has loads of holes and do not see any fixes to those holes anytime soon.D-GenerationX wrote: ↑December 10th, 2021, 12:26 pmExactly.RAMFAN71 wrote: ↑December 10th, 2021, 10:24 am If we are really a SB level team, we will take care most of the rest of these games..if not all of them. Re: We better not sleep on MIN
Every team has holes and a weakness. We just have to be better at what we do best. Just win by making fewer mistakes. We can all talk all day, and thats the point for this forum I guess. i like it. But if we are a great team, we will beat all these teams in our way.Cornell29 wrote: ↑December 10th, 2021, 12:47 pmDid you read "the state if the rams thread" or the threads over the last 3 weeks? Re: We better not sleep on MIN
The point I was making was, most do not look at the rams as a SB team therefore there isn't any contradiction by those who are concerned by the vikes. It's obvious they sure aren't playing like a SB team right now.RAMFAN71 wrote: ↑December 10th, 2021, 1:35 pmEvery team has holes and a weakness. We just have to be better at what we do best. Who thinks the rams are great?

At this point of the season every game matters. The Rams need to take one game at a time. Take care of the Cardinals first.
