McVay = McDaniels

Does anyone remember what happened to Josh McDaniels when he left the Patriots. The guy had a great offensive mind and was really good when he was in New England. As a head coach it took him two teams, but he finally realized he was in over his head and tucked his tail and went back to being what he was good at, Offensive Coordinator.

It seems that he has some similarities to McVay. When everyone figures out that boy wonder can’t handle the duties of a head coach, he will go back to being an offensive coordinator and be one of the best in the league.

But this head coaching thing is backfiring on us. Too much power for a guy his age. It’s starting to look like he doesn’t really know what he’s doing.

I don’t see it, McDaniels didn’t have success as a HC

McVay Went to the playoffs three out of four seasons with a team that $$ucked absolute ballzz before he got there for over a decade

He was so effective at selecting and training a coaching staff that his coaching tree has grown faster than any other coach in NFL history. There are three McVay disciples currently as head coaches in the NFL, that’s just insane when you think about it this is McVays 5th year.

I’m the first one to criticize him he’s going through a rough patch and he’s made a ton of bad decisions recently and a lot of bad personnel moves but up to this point he’s done a phenomenal job overall

He was head coach of only one team.

McVay as a head coach is leaps and bounds more accomplished than JM.

But that doesn’t mean McVay will ever have a championship team or even return to the Super Bowl.

Some big obstacles face McVay and the Rams,

1) Whether because they doubt their own evaluation talents or because going after proven free agents is preferable to Snead/McVay, the Rams have squandered much of their high-pick draft capital, failing to capitalize on discount premier (albeit young) talent. They also have failed to draft enough quality OL, the heart & soul of moving the chains.

2) Sooner or later in a season teams tend to figure out what the Rams are doing on offense, proceed to shut them down and McVay fails to adjust.

3) They don’t know how to move the ball on the ground. Yes Akers is hurt but other teams are moving the ball with injured starters.

4) Nobody, repeat nobody is intimidated by them. They appear so soft when a team comes straight at them.

Here's what I see. Look at the Patriots roster. Look at ours. They are getting things done on the field with competent, patient coaching. Mac Jones is a rookie. They are getting wins with coaching, inspiring, and managing each game. I can guarantee if we switch rosters with NE, they go as a top seed and we miss playoff. It's the coaches.

McVay brought in a ton of new, more talented players. Let’s not forget that.

I'll say it again hands down the Pats coaching staff is the best in the NFL

Agreed. How do they keep doing this? I also agree with the point that if the rosters were reversed, they would be riding high and we would be struggling. Probably looking for a new qb.

because BB is that good. I hate BB but he is hands down the best coach in the NFL. And McDaniels is one hell of a good OC
