If we had gone a different direction with QB...

...which do you think would have worked out better? Am pretty sure we could have traded for Deshaun Watson (assuming he stays out of jail)....or if we had offered GB the same (or more) for Aaron Rodgers (can't recall if they were even interested in trading him but you never know)....I can see the argument for moving on from Goff - but it's hard to imagine he would be doing any worse...(Same thing with starting Hopkins....though I think Wolford would be worse - no disrespect to his supporters)...not even sure at this point who else was available at QB

I wasn't completely sold on Stafford when they made the trade but I was cautiously optimistic - thinking that he was just on a bad team for so long - and that ANYONE would be better than Goff....I guess be careful what you wish for....

Rams are losing because of line play. Offense has no running game and defense is getting mauled up front. Tenn figured it out and now others are piling on. Most telling drive of the season exposing our weakness was SF's opening drive - nothing fancy....straight up the gut, and we couldn't stop them.
And our lack of a running gamed is allowing defenses to come straight after Stafford. What QB could do any better under those circumstance?

No to a different direction. The very act of trying to accommodate McVay with the perfect roster is what weakened the team. We were a good team already, before we started trading away all of our draft picks. Now we are about the same or worse, except older and thinner.

no way could you have traded for Watson at that point in time due to his legal issues. Stafford was the right call problem is McVay and Snead didn't value the OL enough. You build your franchise on the DL and OL and the Rams have chosen not to do that and look what has happened. I also think McVay is a horrible play caller and always wants to show he is the smartest guy on the field.....WHICH HE CLEARLY IS NOT. He doesn't have the patience to stay with the run and it has cost them. This team is not making the playoffs

Unrealistic Rodgers at end of career Watson would cost way too much especially back then not to mention legal trouble.
