Just saw this:

“ Ravens fire John Harbaugh: Baltimore moves on from Super Bowl-winning coach after 18 seasons”

He just became the #1 HC option for those looking for a HC if he wants to coach next year………..

Just stay away from the cards and we good.

If I was him, I would want to go to ATL.

I see AZ is interviewing Saleh. As I said yesterday up here it has been rumored that both parties have a lot of interest………

He was there for 17 seasons, which is an eternity in NFL coaching years. IMO, this is a blessing in disguise for John...

I bet the Raiders and Atlanta are having a bidding war right now.

John is the Mike Vrabel of 2024. Now look at Mike... John will be in the same spot. Bottomline, even if you hate or love them, everywhere the Harbaugh brothers go, they win.

NFL Pedigree - NYG would love to have him develop Dart.

If I was Harbaugh I'd pass on Giants. Dart already has had 3 concussions in his 1st season. One more could be his last.

I find it odd that there are some decent coaches being fired. Do these teams think there's better out there?

The Raiders have the #1 pick and 100 mil cap space. If Mark Davis will get the hell out of the way the HC job could be interesting

If I was him I'd take a year off and then determine if I really wanted to get back into coaching. It's all about the GM\coach relationship. He needs to go to a franchise that he has input on who the GM is...

As one person said - a lot of good coaches are being released - do they really think there are better people to replace them. IMO a lot of it has to do with terrible GM's\owners. It all starts in the FO and if I was him I would want some control on what the FO looks like or I'd stay away...

Why isn’t he jumping at the chance to return to his coaching roots and be the Rams special teams coordinator?

His coaching has been abysmal these last years, I always thought he's the most overrated coach in the NFL

If I was Harbaugh I would go to the Giants. He would be moving up the coast 3 hrs into a major market. They have a really good foundation with Dart, Nabers, Thomas, Skateboo, a great DL plus the 5th in the draft. His name will attract players possibly Pickens then in the draft the can go Defense or OL. Location and the QB is his guiding light. Atl I don't like Penix been hurt a ton already. Az, Cleve, Tennessee don't have the QB or the pieces to attract him and all small markets.

yeah IF he goes anywhere it will be to a team with an established QB or maybe somebody like the Raiders who have the 1st pick. I don't see him going to the Giants either. still surprised he was fired

Atl would be my choice.

He can even run his style of ground and pound offense there. The D has good young talent too. Some questions at qb, but they have options with Cousins and Penix. Maybe bring in a 3rd qb option like a Flacco

Ok… Let’s consider the teams that need a coach and have the best franchise quarterback options, because as we have seen, time and time again… the coaches career depends on its QB (See Belichick/Brady and about 25 other examples. Basically… No franchise QB, good luck lasting more than 2 season in the NFL as a coach.

The Giants: Dart, Wilson, and Winston. Jaxon Dart is the best quarterback among the teams looking for a coach, but he’s had two concussions this year, which could be his last time playing.

The Browns: Sanders, Watson, Flacco, and six other quarterbacks. They have no franchise quarterback.

The Raiders: G. Smith, Pickett, and O’Connell. They’ll likely pick a quarterback at the first overall pick. You could jump all in on Indiana’s Mendoza, but he’s a stopgap.

The Falcons: Penix, Cousins, and Stick. Cousins could get you to the playoffs with a good coach, but he’s a stopgap. Penix needs more time to figure out.

The Titans: Ward and Allen. Ward is in the Penix box, and I can’t figure if he’s going to be the guy. But, he maybe the guy.

In my opinion, the best team to go with is the Raiders.

Pick up Mendoza from Indiana and build around him. You could build something special. The downside is having a poor owner, which means you won’t get things like you would with an Arthur Blank or Kronk . But, this will work for now w John chooses the Raiders and here is how.. but NOT having to pay your rookie quarterback for a few years. Then tell Brady to use that charm so he can acquire the right guys around Mendoza. Raiders seem like the best shot to build a winning franchise, and they have experience in winning Super Bowls.

Thoughts?

I don't trust the Raiders owner if franchise to build a winner. I rather ATL. ATL is loaded is young talent on both sides of the ball. Harbaugh loves running the ball, ATL has a talented back field. Harbaugh loves good defense, ATL has good young defensive players for him to coach.
Atl division can be had as early as next year.

My thought is I lean towards what DM n oc said. But for any HC not just Harbaugh…….

So the lean is Raiders. You have the first pick n you have $100m in cap space. JMO huge plus in rebuilding that franchise. I also kind of look at Davis as he doesn’t give a bleep n will leave you alone. He just cares about the social aspect of owning a team in Vegas. As HC you get that team competitive again he is going to leave you alone……..

Brady though is a concern if I was taking that job. How much am I answering to Brady. Seems like your Sunday gig and other interests are just as important to you. That entire Brady thing I would want clear answers……

After that I’d stick with my ATL answer as the next best open job. Baltimore I’m not too sure about. I think Henry n Jackson best years are close to being behind them. Not there yet but close……..

Well the Birds were actually my first choice as well for a while (as I said this even yesterday) but I started thinking about it...

Atlanta has Cousins and Penix contracts to deal w (Cousin's just redid his contract in the Falcons favor) But.. and this was the ONLY reason I chose the Raiders (I am not a fan of Cousins nor Penix much).

Raiders can take Mendoza and build from there.

Also, If it was just Mark Davis, I would say forget it and be in your camp as I DEF DO NOT trust Mark either. I have met him a few times, and he is sleezy, shady and likes to flaunt himself (my ex wife was a Raiderette and he was very friendly w those gals... like I cant believe hes never been sued for harassment). But now, with Tom Brady on board, I think he brings a little more trust and integrity to the team.

Brady I think could sell the team to new players and he seems to have his head on straight and knows exactly how to win SB's.

Raiders, also have $110+M in CAP space, and they can get Mendoza (who I think will be a franchise QB) for cheap for a few years on rookie deal. BUT, they do not have great talent, so they will have to really build on that.

Meanwhile Falcons, are stuck w their QB's, only have about $37M in Cap space in 2026. They are literally paying their LT and Guard $55M alone next Season (see link below) ouch. Falcons are just really top heavy and not in the best spot imo.

^ this is a good thought that I didnt think about...

How much is Brady actually involved? Is he a micro manager? I would absolutely clear this up BEFORE I accept the Raiders job... Who am I answering too and who makes the ultimate decision on draft days for players? As a coach, do you have to go to Tom and Mark and then hope you get your way as a coach?

Good point. Didnt think about that. So def something that John or whoever takes that job to square away.. In fact, I would agree to terms ONLY if we ALL agreed on who I am answering too and how the relationships would work, so much so I would have it clearly stated in the contract.

because this is a complete rebuild you could argue the Raiders should trade the pick to acquire more picks. Keep Geno or let him go but build the team up around whoever is playing QB. the GM has to be active in FA and go out and get some OL help for starters. Their Defense has to have a major overhaul and they need a solid WR. They could be the worse team in the NFL is regards to the roster. Gruden and Mayock put them back 10 yrs

Well Harbaugh came from the Ravens and Bisciotti the Ravens owner is absolute one of best owners in the NFL. Before DeCosta took over as GM Harbaugh's GM was Ozzie Newsom again arguably one of the best GM's in the NFL.. He won't go anywhere that he doesn't have at least some control or say in personnel decisions. John wasn't fired..the Ravens GM basically wanted some Major staff changes and that seems where he butted heads with DeCosta so he quit. He definitely won't be unemployed for very long.

Yep, am in the same mindset.

Teams only fire their current coach this late IF they have his replacement ready to go. I bet they have agreed on terms, now just going through the formalities of the hiring process...

I think Miami will now become a contender. McDaniels built a good foundation there, the issue was, Mike is not a head coach material.

Plus when you go from 'this' to 'this', it shows either depression, or hittg up a lot of night clubs🤷🏼‍♂️

Literally went from Assistant Manager at Kinkos to now, Magic Mike
