Definitely a strong addition, very reliable!

I think this guy is a keeper. He splits the uprights. I know that lone miss hurt the team but so is the life of a kicker. I don't really see the need to go searching for a replacement because it looks like Mevis is rock solid

As I said before, my only concern with Mevis is FGs longer than 52 yards. Not that every kicker needs to boot a 60 yarder but it will be a big gamble if the situation comes up. He was short on both 60 yarders I saw him attempt during warm-ups. Add in outside weather/wind that range probably is reduced a little.

I would rather have someone consistent from 5-49 yards than someone inconsistent that can make 60 yarders.

I wonder if Evans has ever tried kicking a 60-yd field goal.

The dude is:

39 for 39 on XP's
12 for 13 on FG's

Is there even another kicker in the league that is 51 for 52 since week 8? Mevis is money.

"Money Mevis" is his new nickname. You heard it here first.

Ok "Money Mevis" is reliable and that's definitely needed..but he just doesn't carry a big leg and it could come back and bit us. Nothing we can do about it now. But that's one of the reasons we tried to stash Karty on the practice squad he's leg strength is better. Kicking is a huge mental game. And if you can't block out the noise it can cause the yips. No different than the rock stars in the NBA who light you up at the 3 point line but get them on the free throw line and they suddenly look like you or me out there. The Rams will keep looking but in the meantime we have Mevis to make the kicks that should be 100% and that's something Karty failed to do. But it wasn't 100% on Karty either our Long Snapper was a huge issue too..and Mevis hasn't had to deal with that because we brought back Mr McQuaide who is uber as a LS.

We Haven't tested his leg yet but i suspect he is good upto the mid 50's. He will get his chance in the playoffs.
