Why won't Shula/McVay play an amoeba defense?

Our front 7 seems to always line up the same way with little change up. Offenses feel safe with our front 7 the way we line up.
Why not employ an amoeba type defense like Belichick used to do and Brian Flores the DC from Minny currently employs. The concept is all 7 line up on the D line and you don't know who is dropping into coverage or who is rushing or blitzing the QB.
This style of defense forces the QB and OLine to have to think more pre-snap not to mention the possible confusion it can cause. Truthfully I think it puts more pressure on the Oline/QB possibly creating a mismatch, misalignment, miss assignment or not account for where the blitz is coming from.
Lately I feel there has been a lack of sacks/pressures in general and this style of confusing alignment could help.

Excellent question - on an interesting D option - but it is clear the Rams do not possess the type of athletes in the front 7 to play thus style. Longer, rangy type of athletes who can run & tackle are key. Our current group of DB are poor tacklers as a group ( better than 2024 but still not up to standard) . It would take maybe a draft and FA period to load in the correct players to give this type of D a go.

Shula better start dialing up some new schemes. D is looking like pure crap right now. Vikes just shut down the Lions. Got lot of pressure on Goff. That's what we need to do better. It's almost essential given how bad our CBs have been. Getting to Darnold/Purdy/Mayfield...should cause issues. Gotta make these QBs very uncomfortable on every snap.

I really think that Shula and McVay are letting the front 7 down by overcompensating for a poor backfield. That's why I think they don't ever commit to the blitz (as an example) while putting more players into zone coverage (even defensive linemen)
I don't think they are playing particularly bad, just within themselves . Playing not to lose.
Keep it up and Shula will not be a Head coach next year.

I don't care what anyone says, Shula isn't ready to be a head coach yet. He just became a D coordinator.
All this talk is a bunch of garbage to me. How does one year as an average D coordinator make you eligible to be a head coach. Is it because his name is Shula? His best bet is to stick with McVay and start making some improvements. If he becomes a head coach now, he will flop.
That's not to say he won't be a head coach one day, but now is not his time.

He would do well to stay another year imo

Nothing stopping Shula from doing more cover 1 or cover 0 like Flores and the Vic Fangio do. Shula and Morris before him, runs a version of Vic Fangio system. Vic Fangio mixes in Cover 1 and Cover 0 for the eagles. He played a lot of cover 1 and Cover 0 vs the Lions.
Shula being worried about the poor corner and safety play, which I understand, But I disagree with his approach. I would blitz more, not less. Think of the SB Giants vs Pats. Giants secondary was mediocre, so Giants kept blitzing Brady.
