Joshua Karty won't be returning to the Los Angeles Rams any time soon. The Arizona Cardinals officially signed the Rams kicker off the team's practice squad on Tuesday.

Good for Karty. Looks like off season Rams will be looking for FG kicker. Unless Mevis is the man?

It took me a while to make my decision but Mevis has been spectacular so far.
9 for 9 on FG's
32 for 32 on XP's
That's 40 for 41 and I'd like to know if any PK in the NFL is better than that.

He hasn't hit from the 60+ yard line.

. He is very consistent But has he really been challenged from 40, 50, yard shot?

You got a misprint there bro, 8 for 9 on FG's.. but your math is correct at the end.

He hit a 52 recently.

And I want to see if he's mentally tough in the playoffs.

Correct. I got excited about our new kicker I guess.

I was reviewing Karty’s stats from his rookie year last night.
In the 2024 NFL season, Rams rookie kicker Joshua Karty had a strong debut, scoring 119 points, making 29 of 34 field goals (85.3%), and 32 of 36 extra points, setting a Rams rookie scoring record and earning NFC Special Teams Player of the Month honors.
He had a solid rookie year and my gut feeling tells me that things went south when the idiot we had for a special teams coach starting asking him to adjust his kicks around the defensive rushes. We witnessed this in a few games and it was a disaster.
Totally the wrong approach.
Maybe Chase Blackburn messed this kids head up so much by having him change his approach, thus slowing down the whole kicking process and f’ed up the entire operation.
Follow me?

32/36 Extra Points suck, and he didn’t even kick that many long FGs.
He was mediocre his rookie year and worse his second yrar. It’s not the special teams coach fault. Mevis hasn’t had any issues

He made 85.6% of his kicks his rookie year which. Is the .4% off the league average.
I think BlackBUM messed this kids head up. I would not be surprised if he turns into a solid kicker and has a very long career in the NFL.

The thing I noticed about Mevis was that Sean took to gambling on 4th down more after he was brought in.
Karty would've been in their trying longer FG's, but from what I can tell, they seem to be keeping Mevis from them.
Even to the point of taking a delay of game penalty, backing up 5 yards and punting it.

Very good point. I don't think Mevis has been really challenged yet. 3 seconds to go and 50 yard shot to win game.
