Embarrassing defeat! This is exactly why you want home field in playoffs

Shula called a terrible game, Forbes looked terrible back to old Forbes, bad tackling list goes on and on.
Weather was one of the factors and exactly why you want home field throughout the playoffs which seems unlikely unless we win out. Cold, rain, wind or snow gives us less of a chance we need to win out.

Yes totally, I just mentioned this in another thread.. we will struggle if we have to travel to an outdoor stadium in December.

Had nothing to do with weather unless the field was so slick our dline was on skates they just out physicalled our dline. Third qtr they just ran ball down our throats and kept stafford on sideline (although with how he played today that may have been the best place for him. he looked like detroit Stafford today. I think the team read too many press clippings

At 9-2 prior to this game, Rams had optimized all aspects up through 11 games. Major collapse today at a key juncture for Rams/McVay going into 6 game run. No reason for it other than they are overrated as a team and vaunted HC showed up short. Rams just another team in a gaggle of also ran/ wild card types who likely will play on the road.

McVay yet again gives up on the run when it is producing results...inexplicable but this has always been his trait and I guess always will be.

Such a weird, frustrating day. I think that Ejiro Evero, former Rams safety and passing game coach, understood some of the Rams vulnerabilities.
How do you give up two big 4th down touchdowns? Things sure were sweet when the Rams won the turnover battles…

Well here’s what you do to give up 4th and a mile…
Put your #1 or #2 WR on Forbes and let them fly.
Worked almost every time today…
Yet… Forbes never came out of the game barely.
Total head scratcher.

Weather was not a damn factor today! Stafford’s first two TO were in the first half and it wasn’t raining. The last one had nothing to do with the weather…………….
We went up n down the field all day………….
The D got manhandled had nothing to do with the weather. Neither did Forbes playing like crap today…………..
Stop with the weather crap seriously. They will lose at home in sunny California if they play like they did today………….

Personally, when I hear weather used in a post I think that's just an excuse....as far as I know both teams play in the same conditions.
The Rams were not able to stop them from running the ball and the consistently gave up 6-8 yard runs on 1st down

This was just the NFL and a fluke win. Pound up the middle to avoid the holding penalties, to avoid Young having to get into 3rd and longs. 4th downs, we got schooled with those calls. Young passed for 200yds and 100 were on 3 4th down passes.
That Stafford int though was frustrating as hell, no matter how strong Puka's hands are, settle down buddy.. you don't gamble and throw that ball.
At least its out of his system now.. this run with no INTs and Rams being the talk of town.. better we come back down to earth and this happens now instead of in the playoffs.
Next game will show what this team is built of, do they bounce back or shit the bed again.

The 2 interceptions changed the game. Without those ints, the Rams would have been up at least 28-10 at halftime. That probably would have taken Carolina out of their run first game plan. Also, I kept waiting for a Bryce Young turnover that never happened. The dude plays like one good game out of every 5 and it had to be against the Rams.

Weather is a damn excuse and a poor one used by fans not players……
32 teams n only 2 get home field advantage through out. If you can’t win on the road come January then………
Again for posters like malibu look up where most of the Rams players played in college. I mentioned a few last night. A few more:
A. Jackson -Iowa
Turner - Richmond Virginia
Shelton- Washington
Nacua - BYU / Utah
Etc, etc
What it never rains or snows in those states come December ? They never played in bad weather?
Again like you said an excuse that has gotten really tiresome in here. So if we lose in AZ it will be what too hot? The sun was in our eyes……..

My overaching point regarding the weather is in the playoffs it could be a factor that is why we want the #1 seed so we don't have to worry about it until you get to SF in the SB.
In terms of this game the weather was bad from 1st quarter on Uncle Sam was there and said it was terrible it could have had some factor it may have been a factor Stafford fumble may have been the rain with the wet ball. You can't say it had no factor.
I agree with your overall pov the defense sucked top to bottom - run D was awful and pass d the plays they did have weren't good. Shula's scheme was the problem on defense playing 2 high safety look when they ran the ball all game wasn't smart. Playing soft off ball coverage when Young was mainly throwing short wasn't really smart either, no pressure on Young most of the game didn't help but no adjustments to stopping the run was the biggest problem they were playing from 3rd on short most possessions hard to win when they have the ball for almost a full quarter which is a symptom of bad defense to let them possess the ball that long which equates to long drives with dink and dunking or lots of runs and not being able to stop them.

I respect that uncle was there but I watched the entire game. It did not start raining until halftime according to the broadcast. I don’t think they lied about it….
As far as 40-45 degrees that isn’t cold for football. Sitting in the stands n not moving ok but not on the field playing……..
And Avila complaining the heaters were not working well sidelines and on the field isn’t the same. And if that was an issue for him on the field then we better find a new LG. My bet it wasn’t considering again we went up n down the field all day yesterday………
