This is really bad news. Lake is probably our best defender, team captain and also wears the green dot ( if I am not mistaken) . Our offense has not allowed big plays with him calling the shots yet. On top of that he is good against the run AND pass. This is really bad news. From what I read , minimum 4 games out ( IR ) , worst case scenario could be season ending.

LAke this season :

PFF - 75.1

46 SOLO tackes - 12 th /93 safeties
7 Total pressures - 6 th /93 safeties
30 receptions allowed - 4 th / 93 safeties .

Just impossible to replace this guy . He is the one player on our defense that could NOT go down. All the others are replaceable to some extent. This guy is not .

Not good at all I agree. I think most of us have come to appreciate his play…………..

But it’s the NFL. WE are every team in the league having lost key players. It is why if you are going to have injuries you want them early. Any injury now can change the course of your season…………..

Yup , hopefully it is 4 games "only" . Well , next man up . Jaylen McCollough I guess , he has been solid when taking some snaps so hopefully he can at least hold his own until lake comes back.

I have hopes he can return sooner than later because it was an elbow injury not knees or ankles. So , we will see.

Yep next man up. Again NFL…………

And we both know no one, absolutely no one, is feeling sorry that the Rams lost Lake. See Bosa, Nabers, Hill, Connor, Warner, etc………

Yup, compared to most other teams, the Rams have been freakishly healthy. Lake will be a big absence, but Josh Wallace filled in pretty well against Seattle. McVay has been praising him. Maybe we’ll see McCreary on D Sunday night too.

Per Ian Rapaport. Had elbow surgery yesterday; maybe back for late season or the playoffs.

More from Rapaport:

“ S Quentin Lake had successful surgery yesterday to repair an elbow injury, per me and @MikeGarafolo, though there is a good chance for Lake to return later this season in the playoffs.”

“A key part of a top defense, Lake’s return would be important.”

An elbow? Wrap with medical tape put some balm on it and get back out there. Come on its the NFL. He'll Lott chopped his finger off at half time. :(

Agreed

Josh Wallace replaced Q in the second half of the Seattle game when Q got hurt

Like Lake, Wallace is really versatile.
