was listening to Dodger talk yesterday and man are the hosts cocky about this series. They started taking callers and finally some of them started calling out the hosts, mainly Fred Roggin, saying cool your jets buddy. The Dodgers should win but no way should they pitch to Vlad. The guy hit like .600 in the ALCS...this guy is on a terror like no other. Walk him and let the rest of the team beat us. JMO
They'll have Bichette back and hitting 4th as well. Guy was leading the majors in hits when he went downocram23 wrote: ↑October 23rd, 2025, 8:33 amwas listening to Dodger talk yesterday and man are the hosts cocky about this series. once again he steps up and dominatesGoldenRam wrote: ↑October 25th, 2025, 7:55 pm All even at 1-1 .. another complete game gem from Yamamoto, is that the second one in a row? Smith and Muncy with a bomb apiece .. be nice if Muncy's bat woke up, but have to question if he's fully healthy from that last injury issue which was affecting his swing.
At any rate better coming home 1-1 than 2 down
he should never have taken Wrobliski out.
at this point if I am the Blue Jays I am walking him every time tonight because Mookie has been terrible so I would take my chances with him. I also hope Pages sits tonight..wait just looked at the lineup card and he is in tonight....unrealGoldenRam wrote: ↑October 28th, 2025, 1:01 pm Ohtani *9* times on base, nobody else has even done it seven times in a game in the postseason. Ridiculous. They gave him the Bonds treatment with 5 straight walks, 4 intentional. What, they just going to walk him the rest of the series?
I'm a pitcher on that team, that just tells me you have NO confidence in my abilities.
Instant classic .. 10 straight scoreless innings between tying the game and the game winner .. nuts
Freeman clutch for the second straight WS with a game winner
not over reacting here but the Dodgers IMO are in trouble. they don't hit the ball. if Ohtani is going off they don't score runs. I know it won't happen but Mookie has to move to the 6 or 7 spot.....he has zero confidence and has no chance of hitting the ball. It is too bad because Ohtani pitched well tonight made a couple bad pitches
I realize Pages sucks right now, but Muncy is no better 0-7 in the 18 inning game. Has shown little power all seasonUtah Rams Fan wrote: ↑October 28th, 2025, 9:45 pm Vesia made the WS roster, but he had to leave for a family emergency. Roberts is blowing it by starting Pages, game after game. Pages hadn’t hit since late August. In the 18 inning game, if Pages had gotten on base even one time, this game would have been won in regulation. Ohtani had gone 4 for 4 all extra base hits. Yep, Pages not on base.
The obvious answer to this is to play Edman in CF and Rojas at 2B but Roberts is too stubborn to make the adjustment. Treinan has no business being in any of these games unless the team is up by 5 runs or more, and even then, he’s on a short leash. Roberts just keeps trotting him out there.
I hope someone over Robert’s head makes the decision to bench Pages and send Treinan home.
nobody is hitting besides Ohtani. Freddie gets a hit once in a while but everyone else sucks. it's crazy to think about what I am going to say but this team has to do some heavy thinking in the offseason with this lineup. People that watch this team on a regular basis know that Mookie and Muncy have sucked ass all year. And if you listen to Dodger talk they have been saying all year that Mookie is playing for his existence on this team for 2026. Granted nobody is going to assume this massive contract but he is just downright awful. The left side of the INF has to be addressed. Put him back in RF. The pitching has been go good the hitting has been ignored but it can't be ignored anymore. The Dodgers may well have blown the series at the trade deadline when they declined to find a bat to put in the middle of the lineup, or up to protect Ohtani.
Let's face facts, they got this far on the their starters over the last month of the season and through the playoffs. Eventually the law of averages catches up and it seems to have done so now. Snell stunk, of did Glasnow and Ohtani gave up 4. If he hadn't just pitched, I would honestly have considered Roki. He's going to be a starter next season.
If Ohtani is not hitting, they have nothing, and they don't have anyone at the bottom of the order getting on to make Ohtani's booms count. For all the hype about their farm system, they can't find a good bat to bring up, and Friedman failed, so their bench is much like the Lakers bench, pretty much useless
I think they like how Mookie has become a competent SS so I’d be surprised if they move him unless it’s a pure luxury tax move. I think Fielding Bible had him among top SS in runs saved. His bat is good enough as a SSocram23 wrote: ↑October 28th, 2025, 10:53 pmnobody is hitting besides Ohtani. I would be shocked if they came back. Outside of the 1st inning I thought Snell pitched great. Problem is you are going to win when you can't hit the ball....No fuckin idea what Roberts is doing having Mookie bat 3rd. The dude should be hitting in the 7 spot. I don't care if you hurt his feelings do what's right for the team.GoldenRam wrote: ↑October 29th, 2025, 9:34 pm This offense is just terrible. No hitters outside of Ohtani and once in a while Freeman and Teoscar. Nobody else is doing a thing and once again, Dodgers just striking out every chance they get. They have NO concept of changing the approach when they have the 2 strikes, putting the ball in play, just trying to get on base. I was telling this to a bunch of clerks up at the VA this morning, and they are all, Dodgers got it, just blind to facts. Outside of Yamamoto, the law of averages has caught up to the starters. Snell has given up 5 both games he's pitched. Partly I'm sure because Toronto is a contact team, they just don't strike out like the Dodgers
I am just venting but there is no team in the MLB that would assume his contract it's that bad. I don't now off hand who is in the minors. Dodgers would go out and sign a FA IMO. But again I don't see that happening. Friedman has a lot of tough decisions to make at the end of the yearTruth wrote: ↑October 29th, 2025, 7:59 pmI think they like how Mookie has become a competent SS so I’d be surprised if they move him unless it’s a pure luxury tax move. Who else in the minors would come up and play SS?
let's just say they do go to a salary cap the same teams are going to spend the money and the same teams are going to not. it won't change a thing IMOEastBayRamsFan wrote: ↑October 30th, 2025, 10:30 am A lifetime Dodger fan with the exception of 1985 - 1993 when I boycotted the team for selling out and signing Davis and Strawberry + when Tommy Lasorda pulled Fernando late for Tom Niedenfuer late in the 1985 playoffs vs St. Louis. Tom gave up late homers in game 5 and 6 to Ozzie Smith and Jack Clark.
However, if the Dodgers win the WS (a big if), MLB will probably instill a salary cap which would bring parity to small markets. Today's M:LB is like the 1990's NFL where the ring chasers would join the Niners because they outspent every other team.
I think there will be a long lockout after the 2026 season until MLB gets a system like the NBA has. The luxury tax isn’t enough to deter MLB spending, but in the NBA with the apron system it definitely does. MLB will never have a hard cap like the NFL though. The NFL can do that because each team is getting an even split from the TV money. But in baseball, the Dodgers local TV money is so much more than most every other team so they have that money to spend if they want too.EastBayRamsFan wrote: ↑October 30th, 2025, 10:30 am A lifetime Dodger fan with the exception of 1985 - 1993 when I boycotted the team for selling out and signing Davis and Strawberry + when Tommy Lasorda pulled Fernando late for Tom Niedenfuer late in the 1985 playoffs vs St. Louis. That’s not really true for the NBA. Even the best teams have to break up their teams eventually bc of the tax. Celtics traded some of their guys like Jrue, Porzingis and let Horford go because there are severe penalties for being over the tax year after year.GoldenRam wrote: ↑October 30th, 2025, 1:04 pm The same markets are going to have money and as we see with the NBA and particularly Celtics and Warriors, salary cap doesn't seem to mean much when it comes to them being able to sign any player they want. Can't tell you how many times I've asked myself how the hell that can sign this guy or that
I think the problem now is Yamamoto is going to have to pitch another gem and possibly a shutout for them to win. the entire team is not hitting at all...I just do not see them overcoming this...hope I am wrongGoldenRam wrote: ↑October 30th, 2025, 1:08 pm I did not like the Toronto matchup and was pulling for Seattle and like ocram, I do not see the Dodgers winning this. To me it was always contingent on the starters continuing to have that run. This team reminds me of my late grandmother. When asked once what the score of a game was, she said "Dodgers are losing nothing to nothing"
