My guess is as a tight end Ferg has to get his blocking down and/or his route running. Even if he is lined up as a slot wr, he will be asked to go into motion and block.
With that said more likely Higbee will be out.

you know it's funny a lot of rookie tight ends can come in and play. Why do the Rams have to be so special?

McVay and/or Stafford just don't care much about using TE's they way KC or other teams do.

Why give Stafford yet another weapon? Let's just get Puka in the record books.

Simplifying the offense and focusing on the fundamentals is the answer.

this narrative is so old. I will still say this was a waste of a pick due to the fact they don't use the TE like other teams. like many of you have said it's football so please stop the nonsense about how special and complicated this offense is

Could be this kid is a slow learner; he missed much of TC; he may not be able to digest a complicated scheme that require Kupp-like intelligence to help out on every down.

He better start learning quick.
