OK Ram Fam (It's 9'er Week) Your Worst/Best Rivalry Memory

Worst: Ram/49'er Memory was the 1989 season where Kevin Greene and the Rams sacked Joe Montana 7 times in the first meeting resulting in a Ram blowout win. Then, on Monday Night Football, with 7 minutes left in the 4th and a 27-17 lead with the Rams on the 4 yard line to go up 34 - 17, Doug Smith miss snaps and the 49'ers recover. Two 90+ slant passes later to Jon Taylor the Rams lose and the 49'ers go on to win the Superbowl that "Phantom Sack" year.

Best: Aaron Donald chasing Jimmy Garoppolo for the win in the NFC championship game on the last play of the game.

Interested in your best/worst Ram/49'er memory.

1) favorite memory: Ike's 4tds in the 99 season. Officially marking that they weren't the same sorry ass Rams.

2) worst: Jim Everetts phantom sack in the playoffs. He was never the same QB after that game.

WOW! I have never seen that play before. Not sure I can blame Pop.

Paying good money to go to Candlestick in 1989 to sit through an absolute drubbing and watching with my own eyes through binoculars the phantom sack. I just turned to my brother and said, "he wasn't touched". After the game a 49er fan who had stormed the field came up to me and gave me a chunk of the field turf that he had dug up and said 'here is some of the dirt and grass you guys were eating all day'. I took that soil and grass with red painting and planted it in a pot which I kept it for years as a bitter reminder... :x

Tommy Prothro1971 Rams defeat 49ers.
In whipping the 49ers 17-6 before a crowd of 80,050 in the Los Angeles Coliseum, the Rams gave up yards—382 of them—but not touchdowns. The 49ers gave up only 173 yards, but they also gave away the football game. Not that the Rams didn't deserve it. As their canny middle linebacker, Marlin McKeever, explained afterward, "We may have bent a little, but we held when we needed to."

Dig the smoke!

Worst moment, Blowing a Lead in the 4th Quarter in the SB vs the Steelers on 2 long passes to John Stallworth. The 2nd one and game clinching pass from Bradshaw just cleared the outstretched hand of a fully extended leaping Rod Perry, who misses by an inch from deflecting it away!
That Moment in time was captured on the cover of Sports Illustrated with the Caption "This one was really Super"

Best was the Bomb from Kurt in 99 to Ike in SB XXXIV for the win, 1 play after the Titans had rallied back from 16-0 down to tie the game.
Mike Bush with the call " And they won't catch him today... 73 Yards and a TOUCHDOWN RAMS!" And then along came Mike Jones!!!!!!

Honorable Mention to Flipper Andersons 300+ yards receiving game @ NO when we came from way back to win in the 4th Quarter.
If I remember correctly, it got us into the Playoffs that year!...

The "pump fake" is something I don't see very often any more. Or at least I don't notice it. It used to be a standard with some QBs. I guess Stafford uses his head/eyes to manipulate defenders instead of a pump fake.

Look at all 4 of Ikes TD catches in that game courtesy of the Dime he gets from Kurt on each one. What chemistry those 2 had..
If only that version would have been in LA, they might have been able to keep em together longer.
Wish Vermeil could have stuck for another year or 2 as well.

Best: Isaac Bruce scores 3 Tds in the first quarter of 1999 game and then breaks down in tears due to pent up emotions.

Worst: When the 49ers player said, "Same Old Rams".

The worst memory has to be that Druckenmiller game or the one where Norton Jr. punched the goalposts and said "same old sorry ass Rams".

The NFC Championship game has to be the best for many reasons. We got the Niner monkey off our backs, It meant we were going to the SB, it was at SoFi, and we eliminated the Niners.

Best: the '99 regular season beating, for all the reasons everyone mentioned.

Worst: the 2019 loss at the coliseum. Only because I was there, we SUCKED, and it was my first in-person experience with just how big of A-holes most Niner fans are. Zero class. And I do mean zero.

Worst memory. Pretty much the entirety of the 90s. Especially when they beat us 33-0 two years in a row.

Best memory has to be a combination beating them in the playoffs, and any time we send 25 thousand 9er fans home broken hearted from SoFi.
