Higs had two 3rd down catches for 9 and 16 yards. You watch Staff start going to him more now that Higs getting his legs back a bit..

if he missed that throw he should have been sent to the practice squad

Allen was also in the mix.

Stafford did get a little bit hot on the last drive. I agree with that but overall all year he's had a hard time getting a rhythm with Adams obviously and the tight ends when you look at Higby's targets versus his catches it's terrible same with Adams.

I don't know if it's Stafford. I don't know if it's the receivers. I don't know if it's the system, but to take it to the next level we really need Stafford to get connected with these other receivers.

Dude throws for 375 years and 3TDs and its still not good enough for some folks. Take the gift W and let's move on.

Well, I knew that the guy was pretty old for a pro QB, however not anywhere near *that* old!

Or did you mean 'yards,' hmmmm...?? 8-)

Is this just a YES or NO question? Based on 170 yards passing in the 4th quarter, I'm going to answer YES.

And I'll follow up with this question for the OP.
Stafford drops back to pass. Puka is wide open. Do you want him throwing to Puka? Or, do you want him trying to sneak a ball in to a covered reciever, just to show that he can evenly distribute the ball? Which do you want? I know what my answer is, but I dont want to sway you.

I get this - but I think the OP is focusing more on missed opportunities.
I was listening to the game on Sirius XM - sounds like Stafford missed A LOT of easy passes.
I was actually thinking about starting a thread - "Will Stafford be the reason Rams win the Super Bowl, or the reason Rams lose the Super Bowl".

He seems to be clutch...but he also seems to be really bad at times.
I feel like we've only scratched the surface of how good this team can be. Stafford sort of holds the keys to this machine.

Stafford always been streaky, but wow some of those misses were bad. I think it is his back.

Sorry guys, but I laugh at this thread. Did Stafford miss a some passes I thought he should make...YES. Two were holds by the defense that completely missed up timing, 1 was over a DL with an outstretched arms. He should have easily hit Higbee down the sideline but missed him by 2 feet. (Maybe he thought Higbee was faster.) No excuse on a couple of his misses, but we still scored on Higbee miss so it didnt hurt us. Stafford could even have had a interception by a LB that he hit in the chest. Stupid play but it happens.

Stafford had 70% completion rate. Some of you have complete unrealistic expectations. Go watch some other NFL games...but you have to watch EVERY play and not just the highlights. We are damn lucky to have Stafford even if he is slow and can't run.

IMO opinion we need to quit getting flagged for holding in the redzone. Happened twice yesterday.

His accuracy to start this season overall is alarmingly below average. It hurt us especially in the Eagles game. He missing easy throws at times. Having said that when it's time to win like yesterday he was clutch. Just have to hope he gets it together. Next 3 games 9ers, Ravens, Jags we have to get 2 out of these next 3 games.

He completed 13/15 throws to Puka.

Stafford 29/41
Mahomes 25/37

Yea, I guess the word is out. You're right, he's an NFL QB. It appears that they all throw an incompletion now and then. This thread is crazy.

In the first 4 games hes completed 70, 69, 57, 70 % of his passes. The low game was at Philly. Im not sure what average is, not to mention "alarmingly" below average. Stafford career avg is 63%

And this place will go BONKERS if they only win 2 of the next 3.

I'm starting to wonder whether Megatron or Kupp were that good or is it simply that they had Stafford locking in on them to get them the stats.

Id say a bit of both. They still had to get open and catch the ball. Any team that has a reliable #1 is going to get the Lions share of targets. We see it with Jefferson in Minny, Chase in Cincy, and we saw it with Bruce and Rice. These guys were/are #1s for a reason. They get open, catch the ball, and have the QBs trust.

The Rams problem is that Jefferson has set the bar at 40 mil. Puka is just as important to the Rams as he is with the Vikes.

49RH8R you will confuse people with facts. Stop it.

Also, I know this is only 4th Q numbers...but maybe if Stafford would throw shorter passes (YPP) maybe he would have a higher completion % and make people happier.

Stafford over the last two weeks has uncharacteristically missed about 5 throws to wide open wrs. With that said, I think it's bc of his back (im not so sure anymore after seeing Stafford run after the game winning td) or bc Stafford throughout his career will throw a few erratic throws like most qbs. Despite the 5 erratic throws the last two weeks he has had at least double as many great throws.

With that said, overall the last time he played at this high of level to start a season was the Rams SB year.

My biggest concerns this season remains the OL, Rams secondary and Stafford health.

So far so good with Stafford health.

Stafford is hard to stop once he gets going. That's what impresses me the most this season. 3-1 sounds great doesn't it?

I mean this is really good news considering he's an old, injured and washed up QB 🤷🏼‍♂️

This right here is why those calling for his grounding because he farts at the dinner table once in a while is so annoying. No team goes 17-0 and wins by 4 TD's every week and never punts, fumbles, throws a pick, misses a tackle, a block, an easy catch or gets penalized.
No team including us. Sadly some act like that is their expectations. Never happening.
Staff to me looks focused right now like he's on a Mission to get us another Lombardi.
Favorable schedule, just got to take care of business in the division.
The teams pattern since Matt came on board is we've been a better team during the 2nd half most seasons finding some consistency and if that plays out again this year, we could be looking at a 1st round bye!

FYI, he was clutch against the Eagles too, after we fell behind late, when it counted,
He got us down to within range of a very makeable 44 yard FG for the win with only 48 seconds to work with.
We did not lose that game because of Mathew Stafford. He's not the only one responsible for the RZ woes either.
Looked like we had it all overcome and then choked on the game winner.
I like our chances of winning all 3 of the upcoming games before the bye bro. 6-1 and just that blocked game winner from 7-0?

More evidence of how money he is in the 4th quarter. He notched another game winning drive and I reallllly hope he ends up with the record. I've been saying that for 2 years now but he will probably need to play in 2026 to pass Brady.

Most 4th Qtr comebacks Brady 46 and Stafford 39
Most game winning drives Brady 58 Stafford 50
