Rams Titians Worries?

Is it just me but I am having a difficult time overlooking this game and looking ahead to eagles game. Rams are a 5.5 favorite and the Titans offensive line was criticized for a poor performance in quarterback Cam Ward’s debut, including Latham on the right side. I believe Latham is out on IR.

Hopefully Mcvay has players heads in this game and not looking forward.

Any Given Sunday bro. I won't take the Titans for granted...
I believe we are the better team and should win, but they're trying to make plays and win too and are at home.
I also don't believe Sean is the type of coach that would let his coach's or players look past anyone.
I could be wrong but I don't recall it happening under his watch yet..

What 66 said.

I watched the first quarter of their game last week, will watch the rest in the next day or two, and it is all about Cam Ward. It’s not like Denver manhandled them at home………

Can’t look ahead………

I believe the last big upset the rams had similar to what losing to the Titans would be, is when the Rams lost to the Sam Darnold and the Jets quite a few years ago.

I remember that. Ugly game.... Losing to the Bears last year is close.... They lost 9 of 10 after beating us.

Yeah losing to the Bears was bad. I gave the Rams a slight pass bc of their health going into that game (no puka and no Kupp), unlike when the Rams played the Jets (rams were healthy and playing for division and playoff spot). But I agree that Bear lost was bad

As long as the offense and special teams don't lose the ball we should beat these guys.
Whether he did it with the Lions or the Rams has nothing to do with your comment!
I'll try again, how many average QB's do you know with 60,000+ career passing yards.
Yeah he was pretty average during the SB run, especially that no looker to Kupp as well.
Is this your interpretation of average?

Career statistics as of 2024

Passing attempts 8,166
Passing completions 5,174
Completion percentage 63.4%
TD–INT 377–188
Passing yards 59,809
Passer rating 91.2

Which is about 50% of the time.... We should win.

50% of the time = Average Stafford
30% of the time = Below Average Stafford
20% of the time = Stafford on fire.
Oh ok. Still SMFH………..

More of what you call Average duane....

Mathew Stafford passed for 4,000+yards for 7 straight seasons 2011- 2017

On September 29 2013 Stafford passed for 242 yards in a win vs the Chicago Bears.
Giving him 14,069 yards through 49 games, surpassing Kurt Warner (13,864) for the best 50-game start to a career.

2014 Stafford and the Lions Lost in the WC Round to Dallas

2015 Season.. Stafford became the first quarterback in NFL history to complete 60 percent or more of his passes in all 16 games.
He finished the 2015 season with 4,262 passing yards, 32 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions.
Despite Stafford's success, the Lions finished with a 7–9 record and missed the playoffs.
On December 13, 2015, in Week 14 vs the St. Louis Rams, Stafford reached 25,000 passing yards in his 90th career game, becoming the fastest quarterback to reach this milestone, surpassing the previous record held by Dan Marino of 92 games.

2016 Stafford and the Lions lost to the Seahags in the WC Round...

In 2017 and 2018 Stafford was ranked 31st by his peers on the NFL Top 100 Players List both years!

2021 SB Season... Stafford passed for the second-most yards in a single postseason with 1,188. He became the first quarterback since Eli Manning to lead a fourth-quarter comeback in a Conference Championship and a Super Bowl in the same playoff season. Stafford became the first player in NFL history to pass for at least 6,000 yards and 50 touchdowns in the regular season and postseason combined all while leading a team to a Super Bowl victory in the same season. He was ranked 27th by his fellow players on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2022.

In 2023 Stafford was ranked 42nd by his fellow players on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2024.

BTW There's 1600+ players in the NFL.

My biggest concern isn't Stafford. My biggest concern is our inability to run the ball last week. If we can open up the running game that helps out Stafford and our passing game. Averaging 2.9 yards per carry is not going to cut it...

Crazylegs I feel same way. Especially in red zone, let alone anywhere else. Teams will see Rams as too predictable. Now is our run game hampered because our backs can't make breaks for decent yards or are the backs being used as the second o-line to give Stafford time to pass?

Do you mean during the 2020 season, when our team's top-ranked "D" couldn't stop the until-then-winless Jets' 32nd-ranked "O" from going on a long, ball-controlling, game-winning TD drive late in the fourth quarter?

The Rams also fell apart in both matchups vs. an injury-crippled 49ers team that year, I seem to recall... :? ;) :x

I want to see Verse get the QB on the ground. Need to see Kyren run for 100 + yards. What happened to Higbee? Get him the ball.

Time for Adams to show us what he's got. I also want to see more Whit at WR. Keep punching Landman. Nacua do your thing.

One of my major concerns is to be quite honest Puka... his I am a football player not a WR attitude (which I love) and his utylization rate are gonna get the guy killed.

Stafford has always been a lock on the best guy and load it up, this means Puka gets lion share of targets when you add this to the above statement you get a recipe for injury.

I don't want to change Pukas attitude (love the guy) Stafford needs to spread ball more Adams, Higbee, TuTu, Williams all need to be targeted more.
More running also would feed into this we need to protect Puka from himself.

Higbee gave us an emotional lift when he came back from injury last year and looked really good. I have been really disappointed in him the past few years. I think he is washed, but I hope I am wrong.

A lot of this is play calling. Many times Puka is the first option on the play and if he is open, you throw it to him. You don't always have time to look for your 3rd option, especially if the 1st one is open. It also depends on the defense dictating where the ball is thrown. This past week, Adams was covered by their#1 CB. I would like to see more plays called that get the RB involved in the passing game. We have better receivers this year so I do expect the ball to be divided a little more evenly. When you have a horse like Puka you need to ride it.

Good post

I just hope Adams attitude accepts being the #3 or even the #4 guy. Stafford will ride a player (Nacua) until the defense shuts it down. Stafford did that last year at Kupps expense, which was the right thing to do.

Personally I think the Rams paid too much money for Adams, especially when Atwell looked pretty good last season. Could have used that money on a OL.
I think Adams was a great signing. He is better than Kupp even at his age. I think he will make a significant impact this year. Easily #2. I am not sure Adams cares as long as he is winning. He wants a ring.

OL don't grow on trees. I think we would have grabbed someone if they would have been available. (Without giving up the farm.) I hope our line does better this week against TN. Their defense is not as tough as Texans.

Titans had the worst offense in the NFL last week.

Cam Ward took 6 sacks and only completed 47%.
They were 2/14 on 3rd down
133 total yards

I have a hard time believing this game will be close. I think the Rams win 17-6. Something like that. I’m surprised the line is -5.5.

Broncos won last week 20-12 and that was a game they had 4 turnovers of their own. This Titans team is really bad
