For the Los Angeles Rams, I am optimistic: With Sean McVay’s innovative coaching, a potential upgrade at receiver via the Davante Adams signing, a defense anchored by edge rusher Jared Verse, and a revamped linebacker group, they look poised for a solid year – if Matthew Stafford’s back holds up. This positions them firmly in the top tier, ready to challenge for the NFC West crown and a deep playoff run.

I just saw the CBS PR and they place Rams at 11TH! Slipping 3 places due to the Stafford issue and defensive secondary.
CBS-
The NFC West is going to be a tightly packed division. I don’t think the Rams can have another 3-6 or 1-4 start -- like they’ve had the past two seasons -- and still make the playoffs.
I agree with above. The Rams will need to beat the Texans. If not I will jump off the wagon week one, and demand the Rams find a new coach. Ok maybe not that far. But we need to beat the Texans.

It is just one game. You are correct that over 1/2 the people here will throw in the towel if we lose the first game, scream for a new coach, and want Archie to finish out the season. The rest will say we are winning the Super Bowl if we win. The answer is somewhere in between. Make the playoffs, and peak at the right time. Every game is important and it is not the end of the season if we lose the first one. (I think we are winning by at least 10 points.) I am more worried about our D showing up than our offense.
#8 feels about right starting off. (Not sure Green Bay should be in front of us but they have the newest toy.)

I’ve made the SI season forecast by their staff as the go to. By the way I think theirs is best by far. All their writers have the Rams making the playoffs and two have us going to the SB………

We do not need to beat Houston and I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t. Can’t get around the offense hasn’t played a down since Philly n Houston may have the top two tandem in rushing the passer………
17 games. If this team stays relatively healthy it will be there at the end.

So norcal what do you foresee for first 4 games. 2 and 2? My opinion is if we lose to Texans we lose to eagles, rams beat Colts and titans. Houston good d line, bad o line?

I think the Chargers/Bengals are too low on that list. I expect a big 2nd year leap for Harbaugh. And Burrow is too talented. I think the Packers are too high even with Parsons. I don’t see Love as a big difference maker.
The disparity in QB talent between the AFC/NFC is really striking.
AFC: Mahomes, Jackson, Allen, Burrow, Herbert…all guys in their primes.
NFC just doesn’t have it. Goff,Love, Mayfield, Daniels, Hurts…in terms of guys in their primes. Really a huge drop off.

I’m not saying we won’t beat Houston but it’s going to be a difficult game. All I’m saying is we don’t have to win it. You don’t have to win any week one game.
I think we will go into Philly n play well. Team is going to want that one.
2-2 or 3-1. I could see us being 4-0 but again this Sunday isn’t going to be easy at all.
