With the NFL’s roster cutdown deadline just around the corner—teams have to trim to 53 players by August 27—the Rams are starting to see some clarity as the final preseason game wraps up this weekend. For the Rams coaching staff, I assume they have a pretty good idea who is staying and who is being released. The starters are set, and that leaves limited roster spots for a handful of players hoping to catch on.

After a solid showing in their preseason games, where some young talent emerged, it’s time to take stock and make some tough choices. Drawing from historical trends under McVay, the Rams typically feature 2-3 quarterbacks, 3-4 running backs, and a large group of offensive linemen to protect Matthew Stafford. Here’s my take on how the final 53 shakes out.

Don’t want to lose Davis Allen and Presley.
Would Britain Covey agree to practice squad? He’s a proven returner.

Rams are going to be forced to cut several very good players. There are only so many spots open.
It’s actually a good problem to have.

I certainly wouldn't want the Rams to lose Shaun Dolac, I'm doubtful that he would last on the practice squad... :? :( :x

I don't understand the love for guys like Parkinson or Reeder. I'd rather have Allen and Dolac. A lot of guys have played well on the OL during preseason. OL and ILB are going to be tough choices.

I really like Presley, Dolac, Woods, Wallace, W. Lampkin as my bubble guys. This cut downs are really tough.

I wouldn't keep 4 RBs, 4TEs, 5 ILBs (keep Dolac over Reeder
