Just a few weeks ago, before the news broke on Matthew Stafford’s back soreness, I wrote an article on why the Rams should move on from Stetson Bennett. Now, after the positive reviews from camp and Stafford’s back issues, I felt it proper to reassess his progress.

When you look at this clip that I included in the article, his footwork is vastly improved. Looks sharp. I am excited to see what he does during the preseason.

Hey. This is great news. Very few QBs make the immediate successful transition from college to NFL right away. Optimistic reports are at least a step forward. Im excited about it.

And he didn't even really have a first year. There is a real possibility we have a completely new QB room next year. If we can afford the roster spot, it might be nice to have Bennett going into 2026.

A lot of people had written him off... this guy has come through some tough times and shown to be a winner... we might get a pleasant surprise this year.

McVay keeps that saying that Jimmy Garoppolo is a starting QB in the NFL. I believe he is prepping us for Jimmy G to be our stop Gap when #9 retires. Bennett will be a good long term #2.

Winner in the sense of what? The jury is still out on Bennett. It would be nice if he could become a future productive QB. But my memory is of last preseason with way to many forced passes.

Winner I would assume in college which means nothing now………
A huge 3rd preseason for Bennett. He will get most of the game reps. JMO make or break for him in regards to being with this team in 26.

Fair enough he hasn't proven anything in the NFL but he has proven he can come back from adversity many a times. I'd love to see him make it as I've quietly rooted for him since he was drafted.

He’s a Ram. Anyone who doesn’t want to see him make it, isn’t a real Ram fan imo… (even if he went to the same school as Bulldawg

)
