What haunts ME is Nolan Cromwell and nothing but green grass in front of him ...

Was this the SB with "up with people" halftime show? Best halftime show ever!

Senior in HS. I wasn't that crushed though. Hate to say it but just happy we were in SB. The Vinatieri kick was the one that still haunts me…….

after years of playoff futility, it felt like we were just lucky to be there. It was a weird year, a lot of injuries in the beginning of the year and we were like five and four. Then we pounded Seattle in one of the greatest defensive performances ever. Squeaked into playoffs after finishing very strong behind Vince Ferragamo.

But once it looked like we could beat the Steelers then it became disappointing when we didn't

I mean Lawrence McCutcheon throwing a TD...

Actually, I believe that the 1979 Rams were 4-5 and later 5-6, before going on a four-game winning streak to clinch their seventh straight NFC West title.

During the regular season, our team lost by 6-30 to the Cowboys and 6-21 to the Buccaneers, the two teams that the Good Guys defeated in the NFC playoffs in order to reach the Super Bowl.

Had Jack Youngblood been able to move laterally during that contest, the Steelers wouldn't have had time to connect on those two long passes which changed the course of Super Bowl XIV in the fourth quarter, I'll always believe that... :? :) :geek:

RAM SEASON!!

Rams were suppose to get blown out. Game was actually much closer than the score. 2 plays get executed and the score may have been flip flopped.

Halftime lead. Still hate the Steelers because of that play and that game.

I remember my heart sinking watching that play. Two guys had him well covered and one couldn't knock the ball away. Then they knock each other down and he's got an easy touchdown. I'm glad they finally got one in LA. But that was there for the taking.

It's even worse than you might be aware of...at least IMO, the play that REALLY turned that game was a critical late interception that Ferragamo threw during an ill-advised play-action pass play. In fact, Malavasi called the play, but Lionel Taylor, Rams' OC, begged him immediately not to call the play because of Ferragamo's tendency to throw ill-advised passes during play-action. Malagasy didn't listen, Ferragamo threw an interception and the rest is history.
