Rams 2025 Roster Projection - Early Edition

With the 2025 NFL season on the horizon, the Los Angeles Rams’ initial 53-man roster is taking shape, reflecting some important changes, free agent signings, draft picks, and returning veterans. This projection is way early; undoubtedly, the roster will be different come opening day. I foresee the Rams keeping several draft picks and UDFA free agents on the 2025 roster. Most of these rookies will not be starters, but I could see a few rookies becoming key contributors as the season rolls on. This projection highlights the pivotal players, new faces, and a few surprises as the Rams prepare for a competitive run at the NFC West title.

Thanks for putting these ideas out there! I’m wondering about Ty Hamilton and Britain Covey.

It will be interesting to see the Waters/Rivers battle. McVay will probably lean toward Rivers for his blocking ability. (Waters probably needs a year on the PS.) I have nothing against Rivers, just not a huge fan.

Rivers hasn’t really shown me much. Waters is bigger and faster.
It will be interesting. I want to see what Waters can do in the preseason.

As for Waters, I dig this clip I made from his highlights. But, the gap containment from the defense was atrocious - 😣😊

I think Ty will be in the practice squad and Britain Covey may be out next return guy. Xavier Smith may be cut, although there isn’t much difference in their salaries.

“ The tape shows a defensive lineman who brings day one impact against the run with clear areas to develop as a pass rusher. Hamilton's heavy hands and explosive power jump off the screen - he consistently stones double teams and redirects traffic in the run game. That kind of anchor immediately strengthens a defensive line rotation, even while his pass rush technique catches up to his physical tools.

His devastating bull rush and surprising movement skills hint at a higher ceiling than your typical early-down defender. Hamilton thrives working from 3-technique or head up on the guard, where his leverage and power create consistent push. He's shown enough versatility to slide across the front in multiple schemes, though he's at his best when he can fire off the ball and reset the line of scrimmage”.

Again, mentioned many times, the analysis reinforces the corner back issue as the most troubling going into the season. Interesting to see how it will be addressed.

Very good points. I was bound to overlook somebody :)

That 53 is pretty close to what I think it will end up barring any preseason injuries. I do think Rivers will be the RB4 though. Could be RB3 if they don't think Hunter is up to speed in blocking.

Sorry to harp on this point just 1 more time : WATCH OUT if Coleman Shelton is the 2025 starting Center over Limmer - MS needs to have all insurance data in place if this weak turnstile is hiking him the rock.
