on record stating I did not like the pick. we could have stayed put and selected a much needed OT and still come back in the 2nd round to get the very comparable TE from Texas. I hope Ferguson does well

The Rams didn't have a 2nd round pick, that came from the trade
along with ATL first round selection next year
that hopefully will be in the area of obtaining a much better player than our 2025 #26 offered. Like TFerg or not (that's fair), I personally loved the trade.

damn sorry what I meant to say was in the 2nd round they could have got an legit OT and then come back in the 3rd and draft Helm, TE Texas, who didn't go until the 4th. no big deal obviously at the end of the day. Hope Ferg does well and I hope they use him

I support what you're saying as I too thought that the OL was a more important investment to add to ahead of time. I wanted Donovan Jackson.. That said, TE was also on that same list and I think Ferguson is a sneaky good addition to an offense that lacked consistent play making from the position since Pete Holohan and flashes from Ernie Conwell. No slight against Higbee, but
Higbee was never a real difference maker. Just consistent catching balls and a pretty good blocker. Ferguson offers Laporta type ability and I'm excited to see some of that.

Gunner Helm is not nearly the athlete that Ferguson is. I believe that Ferguson has more upside. But I was surprised they did not draft a RT for the future.
