Here's the stat of the draft for you.. CP Jr. Had 665 snaps in pass coverage in his collegiate career.. No TD's allowed. Care to guess what role we are likely to find him in? For years this is where the Rams defense struggled.. Or since Littleton left and Barron couldn't play anymore..

5th round is our sweet spot with Kyren and Puka so hopefully it hits again.

Yeah he's light for a ILB.. Prolly why... But who cares when you can cover out of that position. And, with Ford in the middle, the size as a run stopper isn't as much of an issue in my mind either. But IMO it's the pass defense they drafted him for

He needs to add a bit of weight get stronger noticed in his pre- draft highlight video a lot of pull down tackles. by far my favorite pick of the draft...not including Falcons 26 first rounder

Do you have his stats against the Run? Teams will just run at him more when he's out there if he shuts down the Pass and is 1 dimensional.

"Paul Jr. was a dominant force for Ole Miss in 2024, earning First-Team All-America honors (USA Today) and SEC Linebacker of the Year (CFN) recognition. Pro Football Focus also named him the top-rated linebacker in the SEC for the 2024 season, with an overall defensive grade of 87.2. He was also in the top five in the SEC for pass rush, tackling, coverage, pressures, and run defense. "

I'm again going to emphasize again that it's his size as an ILB that found him in the 5th round. I really believe that if he's 30 lbs heavier and had these numbers.. Paul is a 1st or 2nd round pick. As is you have to have a Poona to shield a guy of his size in order for him to make plays against the run. Look what happened to Littleton without Brockers and Donald. I think Paul is the nickel LB in known passing downs to start with

Wow, I didn't know he was All-American. I watched every Ole Miss game last year and its not that he did not stand out but they had one of the best dlines in the country.

That I think further validates my thinking here. Without that DL Paul likely becomes a liability against the run instead of being a really good playmaker.. Which is why Rampagers fear is valid. Littleton proved that point too when he left for the Raiders and there was no more Donald and Brockers. Poona is really important for Speights and Paul.

Only missed 4 percent of his tackles last year

I think Ferguson is the best pick regardless of draft round.. However, I do really like Paul after studying up on him and watching some video. I do think he's gonna be another 5th round find for Snead.

We waited long enough but i'm happy to see we finally snuck in a linebacker. I wonder why he went so low.

Has to be size... his performance was otherwise near 1st rnd worthy. Gotta a strong feeling the Rams 5th rnd masterpieces continue for the 3td str8 year

He was impressive at Arkansas; he teamed with Langston (who went in the 3rd round to Buffalo, I think). Wish we could have gotten both of these guys.

Paul is just what our Defense needed.

That could definitely be in order. The more I watched the guy yesterday, the more I thought similarly as you. Just keep the big greasy guy in front of him and he's more than fine against the run.. that's the key IMO.

London Fletcher was 5’10” and weighed around 240 when he was a Ram (and should have stayed a Ram).

How in tarnation did this guy (Shaun Dolac) somehow avoid being drafted yesterday?

He strikes me as about a fourth-round selection... ;)

Chris Paul Jr., a linebacker prospect in the 2025 NFL draft, scored a 6.13 on the Relative Athletic Score (RAS). This score places him 1231 out of 3182 linebackers drafted since 1987, according to ras.football.

I believe George Constanza said it best; right in that meaty part of the curve. Not showing off, not falling behind." Frankly, overachievers are kind of annoying.
