you are absolutely right. still have no idea what that DB was doing on that TD play. Darnold did not look good for Seattle. Not sure what they are doing with Walker either
No idea agree. And the DB also on the Pearsall catch on that drive. Both should have been picked.
Purdy still makes bad decisions when under pressure…..
Lions n Rams created the book on Darnell……
I was really surprised how inefficient Seattle’s run game was……
yeah thought Seattle would run the ball a lot. I think that was the same DB. Purdy just threw that up for grabs should have been picked off

9ers have the benefit of that last place sched. The 3 games based on division finish the previous year really favor them.
We go to Baltimore, they Cleveland. We go Philly, they the Giants. We host Detroit, they the Bears.
Then there's the fact we have to go to England to play the Jags, SF hosts the Jags @ Levi.
The remaining non divisional games are against the 2 South Divisions, that finished 7th and 8th in Division winning % last year.
The sched appears soft enough they may be able to hang around until they get healthy later in the year. Unless there's serious improvement in those 2 weak divisions by multiple teams. The Cards didn't look great beating the Saints yesterday either, but like the 9ers they won on the road. The Hags might be the ones in trouble.

It looks like Jake Moody will be on a very short rope. Missed a field goal from 35, then had one blocked, miners didn't use him in 2nd half and kept offense on the field for two 4th down conversions. He did have the game winner. My guess is he will be released sooner than later.

Tariq Woolen. All the talent in the world but just glitches on huge plays. Was stride for stride with Pearsall on the big completion and just kind of slows down inexplicably while the ball is in the air. And on the TD, he is in FRONT of the TE and jumps BACKWARDS to get the ball. This is the same DB that had a pick coming to him vs. the Rams in OT at Seattle, but sat back and let Tyler Johnson come in front to swipe it. The same DB that gave up the walk-off to DeMarcus Robinson. Not sure he'll be starting much longer.

49ers are placing Pro Bowl TE George Kittle on injured reserve, meaning he now will miss at least the next four games. Kittle injured his hamstring during Sunday’s win over Seattle and now will miss games at New Orleans, vs. Atlanta, Jacksonville and at the Rams.

Well, that gives me some comfort we dont have to deal with Kittle. Dude is a solid player.
How Kittle's absence impacts 49ers' offense:
Kittle isn't just a pass-game weapon. He is also the NFL's best blocking tight end. Kittle plays a huge role in the 49ers' run game, working with the other tight ends and fullback Kyle Juszczyk to lead the way for the Christian McCaffrey-led rush attack on both misdirection plays and straight-ahead calls. Because San Francisco's offensive line beyond Trent Williams and Dominick Puni isn't a strength, Kittle's role in that aspect of the game is even more important.
But of course, Kittle is also an explosive weapon down the field. And the key word there is explosive. He's not a particularly high-volume pass catcher (he runs fewer routes than most other top tight ends because the Niners have him block more often than other teams do with their tight ends, given that he's such a good blocker), but he creates big gains at a rate significantly higher than just about every tight end in the league.

Here it doesn’t change. They are still the greatest team since the game was created. After a win their injuries are non existent to all up here. It is all about how great they are. And how they took over another road stadium last Sunday. I actually try to stay away as much as I can after they win………
Like we talked about recently as it relates to our team best to have injuries now than later. Unfortunately same applies to them……….

for Kittle this is going to be a nagging injury all year. He is a great blocker as well so this IMO is a huge loss. I would put 8 in the box now with them because all they have is Pearsall now.

I think there can be a separation of the two situations. No doubt Niners fans have and still are rather bleeped with how the Niners have drafted over the last few years. But the Rams also traded up to get Paul. Sure a 5th not a 1st or 3rd but still took additional draft capital to get Paul……..

I dunno...
The 9er offense scored more points than our offense in week 1......Division rivalry games are always 50/50.
That team will always be a problem for the Rams even if they wind up being under .500......9er fans seem to always take over Sofi, so it's almost like they have two home games.
Purdy being questionable now...hmmm this maybe a closer game than you think. Kittle on the IR, Jennings questionable too....

Well, I won't underestimate the 49ers, in the rivalry's history they've defeated our team with nonentities like Jim Druckenmiller and Nick Mullins starting at QB for them... :? ;)

Brock Purdy likely out 2-5 weeks with turf toe variant; 49ers to start Mac Jones at quarterback

Mac Jones has had a strange career. He was pretty good as a rookie QB. The Patriots went 10-7 his rookie year and he had a 67% comp rate with 22 TDS/13 INTs.
But since then he has steadily gotten worse somehow. It’s def a chance for him to show something. I wouldn’t be surprised if the 49ers won a few games with him

The 49ers have that last-place schedule, overall it may prove soft enough for them to stay marginally in contention within the NFC West, so the Rams may need to sweep them again this season... :? ;) :geek:

Don't know if they were before, but a good sized crack is showing with Purdy and Kittle out. But hey, "we will rally around Mac Jones and we will play good football"

I can vividly remember that game and can tell you exactly where I was. The Rams blew ass for so long and it was in the middle of that futility streak against the Niners when we played Druckenmiller. I was hopeful that finally we were going to beat those MF's but I left that Pennsylvania sports bar very disappointed. Jim Fuckin Druckenmiller.

Sounds minor but IMO this the tip of the iceberg for Trent William. That douchebag is done at some point this year.
"As the injury problems stack up to include tight end George Kittle, quarterback Brock Purdy and wide receiver Jauan Jennings, another potential issue has sprouted up. Left tackle Trent Williams was listed as a non-participant in Wednesday's session because of a knee injury, as well as his typical veteran rest day. He was once again a non-participant Thursday, bringing his availability for Week 2 into question. Williams dealt with an injury in the 49ers' Week 1 win over the Seattle Seahawks. He missed one snap and seemed to be laboring throughout the game. Pro Football Focus credited him with a team-worst six pressures allowed."

Don’t appear to be. Not much of a drop off from Purdy to Jones.
Last year they won 2 road games all season.
This year they are 2-0 on the road. They got Arizona/Jacksonville at home before going back on the road to play the Rams so it’s possible they are 4-0 going into the Thursday night Rams game.
They are def fortunate starting out with an easy schedule as their first 4 opponents I doubt make the playoffs

As someone already posted, Nick Bosa is out for the year. A backup JAG that came in for him broke his thumb and needs surgery so he'll be out too. 1st round defensive end Mykel Williams is day-to-day with a wrist injury.
Starting LG Ben Bartch on IR after ankle injury vs. Saints.
It's really too bad SF is playing a bunch of shit teams and it doesn't get any harder with Jax this weekend.

Maybe and it very well could be. He and Trent Williams are playing on borrowed time. I don't think Purdy has seen the last of the blue tent either, especially with that OL.
