I went from hating the dude to respecting him… what’s the big deal?
If you've never heard a football coach say "We're going to war today!" or "It's a battle to the death out there!" or "We're attacking them with everything we've got!", then your football experience must be highly limited.
Military analogies are quite common in describing sports competitions, American-style football most especially.
The "big deal" is there is *zero* contradiction involved in disliking "Tom Terrific" as a person plus an opponent of the Rams, yet nonetheless respecting his career accomplishments.
If that concept is beyond your comprehension, I'll just state that it's true, believe it or not...!!

Again, your analogies are twisted… WW2 and Nazi’s conflated with me changing my opinion of someone… PLEASE… I have no problem with describing football with military analogies, just not you bringing up Nazi’s, comparing that to me not hating someone…WTH….
Then telling me what to respect >
DIsliking him as a person and respecting him also, good for you, that’s YOUR opinion… not mine…
