I think you may be right. It's amazing how teams falter when they lose coordinators. It really makes you wonder how the Rams have been able to keep it up after losing so many talented guys. Green Bay, Minnesota, Cincinatti, Jacksonville and Atlanta all have head coaches that were once part of the Rams in some capacity.

Do you remember Goff first season? Under Fisher.... Mcvay turned him into a NFL QB capable of reaching a SB with the right pieces around him.

once we lost the biggest piece (Gurley) Mcvay rightfully assessed that Goff could not carry the team to a championship and looked for someone that could. He obviously found that guy.

Goff was and is a good QB, Stafford has a chance to be a all time great (nearly ruined by playing for one of the worst NFL organizations for his first 12 years. Stafford's talent even on horrible teams was so evident that the Rams gave up 2 first picks and an overall number 1 pick and SB QB to get him. Other teams were apparantly in the market for him as well thankfully he never became a Niner, as that team with Staffor would have stopped the Chiefs dynasty and prevented the Rams second championship and prevented Donald and Whit from getting their well deserved rings.

Stafford has done well for the Rams, considering the coach. But I think it's time to start looking for a new QB for next season or possibly this season, especially if the OL problems aren't fixed. He was smashed a couple of times last game.
Ummmm, the Rams have a solid, experienced #2 QB in Jimmy Garoppolo and even a better-than-expected #3 QB in Stetson Bennett IV, so what the hell are you discussing about happening "possibly this season"?

"Considering the coach," you're referring to Sean McVay, who's widely rated as Top Three in the league as a head coach, is that correct? Obviously, McVay's coaching has been a major contributing factor to Matthew Stafford's success as our team's starting QB, hmmmm...?? 8-) :!: :?:

duanevalle22 wrote: September 11th, 2025, 2:59 pm I dunno about Garoppolo.... If for some unfortunate reason he has to play, chances are Bennett will be taking the field at some point, which IMO he's a "break glass in an emergency" QB only.... Garoppolo has played something like 11 regular season games in 5 years????.... Our backup QB situation is not a very good one. Pray Stafford stays in one piece.

Maybe McVay is partly responsible for Stafford's success, I must concede that, but I think Stafford's veteran status also helped keep McVay's tendency to be overly reactive in check.
Our QB room was rated one of the highest scores before the season started. That was accounting QBs 1-3. We are much better off than most teams in regards to backups. I think we will grab a QB in next year's draft but we don't have a choice but to roll with what we have for this year. I hope neither of our backups see the field this year unless they are shaking hands.

Off to game 2 we go.

This^…….

To say McVay is “partially responsible” or “considering who the coach is” in reference to Stafford’s success here…….

What you said Felix……..

Its ridiculous. He ignores the success of both McVay and Stafford for whatever reason. They ain't perfect, but they're both elite. Some people need to think before pushing submit.

To me Goff has proved himself to be fine. His only weakness is statue like QBing. Stafford isn't mobile but can move some. Look that style was fine for Rivers and Brady so it is a minor flaw. Last year they had a ton of injuries but that team is stacked.

They just need to maneuver the Coords transition on both sides of the ball. Which I am sure they will.

Goff is still really good even without Ben Johnson. Silly post OP.

23/28 for 334
5Tds 0 Ints

He was 31/39 in week 1.

54/67 in 2 games. That’s 80%. Lions look just as explosive as last year even with losing their Mike Martz OC

Well....4 weeks in and Detroit has the number 1 scoring offense (again) despite losing Ben Johnson and having 3 new starters on the interior oline.

Goof is 2nd in the NFL in passer rating.

I'm not ready to go that far. But they finally have a defense that is respectable which they have not had in the Campbell era. Though they did lose both starting CBs yesterday (Reed and Arnold).

They'll be a force though.

The only good team they faced was GB and they lost . Their schedule is really weak so far , it will get much tougher soon , then we will see how good they are . Scoring 30 ish against the baltimore and browns doesn't mean much . Everybody scores 30-40 against baltimore , they probably have the worst defense in the NFL . I think bills and eagles , so far , are better than them . And even the rams and a few others are pretty much on par with them .

Well, the obvious alternatives would be the Eagles and Bills, the league's remaining undefeated teams, although both have shown vulnerabilities at times... :? ;) :!:

I have the Eagles at #1 and the Bills at #2.

Philly from coaching and roster is the cream of the crop they need to be beaten before I take the top spot away from them. The Lions are probably top 5. Just want to see the defense hold up.
