From the most basic perspective, Seachickens had the same record as us last year and always have a great draft (I think Milroe is going to be a weapon). Secondly, AZ should have beaten us twice last year were it not for the miracle INT by Ahkello.
SEA could be ok, but I see them as average in the NFL as my guess.
Darnold is not an improvement over Geno...but Klint Kubiak is and improvment over Ryan Grubb. This version of SEA makes me nervous. Their pass blocking is not great - but if the preseason is any indication, they are going to run first and pass efficiently. And their defense has some serious pieces. I'm predicting a split with them this year.
wow what a move by the niners??? not sure what they were thinking when they got rid of Deebo. They knew Aiyuk wasn't going to be back until mid seasonNorCal RF wrote: ↑August 21st, 2025, 8:45 amExample of how desperate they are right now @ WR…….DelMar wrote: ↑August 21st, 2025, 4:17 am NFL trade: San Francisco 49ers land wide receiver from Kansas City Chiefs

They are just waiting for some OL to be waived……….
I ain't worried about them until the actual games start.Idaho_Ram wrote: ↑August 22nd, 2025, 9:03 amDarnold is not an improvement over Geno...but Klint Kubiak is and improvment over Ryan Grubb. their OL is much better this yr for starters. Darnold threw 35 TD's last year to Geno's 21. Granted the Vikings has way better WR's obviously. I think the loss of DK and Lockett will hurt them big time this year. the huge question mark IMO is our guy Cooper Kupp. If he can somehow stay healthy and bounce back they are going to be tough. Big IF thoughIdaho_Ram wrote: ↑August 22nd, 2025, 9:03 amDarnold is not an improvement over Geno...but Klint Kubiak is and improvment over Ryan Grubb. This version of SEA makes me nervous. Moore is a 5th receiver on the Rams that the niners need to be their 2nd receiver to start the season………..
I think Seattle has the potential to be good. HC appears to want to run the ball and be physical on both sides of the ball………ocram23 wrote: ↑August 22nd, 2025, 11:03 amtheir OL is much better this yr for starters. Right or wrong they couldn’t wait to get rid of Samuel……………..
They didn’t see Jennings wanting more $ now. I don’t blame him but at the same time I would not give him more $ now if I was the niners. This current “injury” of Jennings I see going on for a while………..
Aiyuk they just said this week, with a few that follow the team, is probably a November return……………..
The niners just seem to be unwilling to get their “strengths” help. CM is still the key for them but they didn’t get more OL help this off season for a unit that is not their strength. Then the genius Shanahan plays Puni last Saturday and then for some reason plays him on ST where he got hurt. Now they are projected to Start a rookie in week one.
They claim Purdy is a strength but again no OL help and they let the WR unit get to where it is now. I like Robinson that they just traded for but fact is he isn’t CM and the more Robinson is on the field the fewer snaps CM gets………………
JMO i don’t think him or Williams get through the season without missing games. Why today’s trade was probably important to them. I do like Guerendo though…………..DelMar wrote: ↑August 22nd, 2025, 11:38 amNorCal RF wrote: ↑August 22nd, 2025, 11:23 am

One thing I have been wondering is, is CM a 100%?. The Achilles and PCL sprains dont easily just go away. I just think he's super prone to getting injured again this season.

definitely a ride or die this year on CMC. I was joking about Moore... OL is going to be an issue. They can ill afford any injuries on that front. I know Deebo was a diva but unless you address it in the draft, which they didn't, then you are screwed. I think if Pearsall can stay healthy he will have a big year. But as I have said before they lost 9 starters off last year's team.....they won't make the playoffs IMONorCal RF wrote: ↑August 22nd, 2025, 11:23 amMoore is a 5th receiver on the Rams that the niners need to be their 2nd receiver to start the season………..

I agree. the key to their success this year IMO is going to be Walker and Charbonnet. If they can get going they are going to be a decent team. Walker is always hurt so we will see.NorCal RF wrote: ↑August 22nd, 2025, 11:26 amI think Seattle has the potential to be good. We all know Kupp is going to bust his ass up there. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that he rarely gets separation anymore…………

Wow. I didn't know he got hurt on a ST play in preseasonNorCal RF wrote: ↑August 20th, 2025, 11:24 pmAnd Puni gets hurt on ST in a preseason game. Think about that. Your second best OL,on what is a thin unit, not only plays in a preseason game but plays ST in that same game.49RH8R wrote: ↑August 19th, 2025, 9:31 am
"After the game concluded, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan took to the podium and provided updates on the status of all three players. He stated that Puni may have a PCL injury, while Taylor has a dislocated shoulder and Kiner is believed to have a high ankle sprain. All three are expected to miss multiple weeks, according to Shanahan.
Puni, 25, is San Francisco's starting right guard, and without him, they turned to Nick Zakelj, who hasn't been great in training camp or the preseason. With Puni and left guard Ben Bartch both down, the 49ers may struggle to stop interior pressure."
And some put Shanahan on the same tier as McVay……….
Yep FG team……..49RH8R wrote: ↑August 23rd, 2025, 6:49 amWow. I didn't know he got hurt on a ST play in preseasonThe Niners are dangerously thin at OL and they did this? What a completely dumb move.
I've always said Shanahan is an overrated coach and I've given my reasons. Choking away big games, botching the QB position (Trey Lance, sure SB winner if they added Brady, Rodgers, Stafford), no winning record until year 6 of his career, and now this. People forget he and Lynch were on the hot seat after their first 2 years.
Yeah, thanks for listing even more examples. Trent Williams has bullied the Niners into two huge contracts way before they had to pay up. The last one was absolutely ridiculous. I would have told him to pound sand. They lost a bunch of starters in free agency because of all that.NorCal RF wrote: ↑August 23rd, 2025, 7:13 pmYep FG team……..49RH8R wrote: ↑August 23rd, 2025, 6:49 am

Flag ship for them this past Monday talked about it. They chose their words carefully, again flag ship means homers, but they were questioning what the hell Shanahan was thinking playing him on ST against guys trying to make the Raiders……..
Shanahan has the resume that many get enamored with. But let’s face it anyone who traded for CM was going to look good with their play calling. Fact is Purdy has saved his bleep after he insisted, yes he insisted, they give up 3 firsts for Lance who played how much in college……….
Same person who when he found out Lynch was about ready to trade Aiyuk stormed into Lynch’s office n said no don’t trade him. Same person who said I need Bosa to win so pay him what he wants. Same person who insisted on extending a 36 year old OT even though he still had 3 years remaining on a $$$$$ contract. That is why this off season the rumor was Shanahan was told by the FO we don’t need your input on player’s contracts just coach the roster we give you……….
Again good resume that also reflects big time choke jobs in the 4th quarter in the biggest games………..
Personally I think CMC is breaking down and his glory days are over. He's been ridden like a rented mule in both Carolina and SF. If he is already banged up how can he get through a 17-game season? They can spell him a bit but not Trent Williams. I think we'll see TW miss time too as well as Kittle. Aiyuk is out and the defense is full of young new faces. Not sure why the mainstream media loves these guys so much. Some (Derek Carr) even predicted them in the SB.bigklein wrote: ↑September 4th, 2025, 7:51 pm https://www.sfgate.com/49ers/article/49 ... 0001456fef
McCaffrey’s calf. Deja Vu all over again?
you are absolutely right. still have no idea what that DB was doing on that TD play. Darnold did not look good for Seattle. Not sure what they are doing with Walker either
Kittle could be out for the Rams game since it's on a short week on TNF. Purdy and Jennings nicked up now and a host of other players will get banged up as the season goes on. Purdy could miss next game but it's only NO.bigklein wrote: ↑September 8th, 2025, 7:54 pm Purdy’s toe and more…

Kittle and Jennings…
No idea agree. And the DB also on the Pearsall catch on that drive. Both should have been picked.
yeah thought Seattle would run the ball a lot. I think that was the same DB. Purdy just threw that up for grabs should have been picked offNorCal RF wrote: ↑September 8th, 2025, 8:14 pmNo idea agree. And the DB also on the Pearsall catch on that drive. Both should have been picked.
Purdy still makes bad decisions when under pressure…..
Lions n Rams created the book on Darnell……
I was really surprised how inefficient Seattle’s run game was……
