And don't forget that we can use that extra 1 to move up as well...or back....It will be a big deal next year. Less so if Rams Falcons are in the NFC Championship this year.

Not using your first round pick after all the waiting (months) is a gut-punch the first few seconds...but upon review, ok, I would be 100% PISSED had the Rams ever done a trade like that
I don't like the idea of hoping players get hurt, but if the Falcons were to go thru something like the Rams did this year, well...I wouldn't mind drafting top 5 next year

Falcons have picked 4, 8, 8, 8 and 15 last 5 drafts. Now they’re going to be 26? Would require they win a playoff game. Their QB is basically totally unproven. They have some talent on the team but 12-18 is where I see that pick falling.

So Basically we gave away a #26, for NEXT YEAR's 26...not all that excited about it. It doesn't help us this year. It is a positive move, and I understand the excitement...I am just not jumping up and down.
Do you honestly feel the Falcons first round pick next year will be as low as 26?
I think #20 worst case. They have a good chance of winning the division. Saints don't have a QB. Carolina is questionable, Tampa is their primary challenger. 10 of this year opponents where under .500 last year. They play 4 tough games...Rams, Buffalo, Washington and SF. (3 of the 4 are home games.) They were good enough to beat Philly in Philly last year so they have potential.

They have potential but Penix is a totally unproven. He looks good in practice doesn’t mean anything and if he struggles, so will the team. Division isn’t good. I agree. Tho Carolina will be better and Tampa is solid.

The trade is really all about how good Atlanta is next year. If they suck, then it’s a great trade for the Rams.

As for next years first round. I could see both picks being in the 18 - 32 range. For that reason, I would still be happy with McCord in the 4th if he's still available. There is still going to be 3-5 bad teams in need of a QB next year. To have QB already taken care of, and still have 2 firsts would be huge.
Well, before the Rams gave up that third-round pick to the Falcons, I was speculating about them 'taking a flyer' on QB Kyle McCord (Syracuse) in the fourth round. However, now that fourth-round selection will likely be employed by our team to acquire a backup OT, assuming that the Good Guys' second- and third-round draft choices are expended on filling their #1 CB and starting ILB positions, one way or the other.
Of course, McCord would be a 'long shot' at QB even should he end up on the Rams' roster, rather like Stetson Bennett was two years ago.
I'm figuring that the 2026 first-round pick from the Falcons would probably be in the 14-18 range, along with our team's own first-rounder it presumably would be traded to allow the Good Guys to take a highly-regarded QB prospect from among the top ten selections of that draft.
That's the plan, I'm guessing... 8-)

If the Falcons play the Commanders this year, wouldn't they also play the Vikings? The Seahawks might have a fairly solid team, they did finish at 10-7 last season, and there are those two divisional matchups with the Buccaneers.
Projecting extremely early, I'm envisioning the Falcons as winning eight or nine games, so then our team's 2026 first-round draft selection from them would be in the 14-18 range... :? ;) :geek:

I really think we use both our 1st round pics in 26 to either trade way up in 1st round to get our next gen QB… OR… we use those two to trade for a solid vet, like a Burrows or someone else (not that I think Burrows will be Ava, but we never know)

100% We traded #26 for a legit shot @ top ten draft spot
