Jacob Harris:
JACOB HARRIS
WR, UCF KNIGHTS
UCF redshirt senior WR Jacob Harris declared for the NFL Draft.
Harris (6'5/211) really emerged in the wake of Tre Nixon's injury early in the year, posting 30 receptions for 539 yards and eight touchdowns for the Knights. The redshirt senior uses his length to high-point deep balls, as is evidenced by his career 20.1 yards per catch average. He could find a team willing to take a chance on him as a developmental project, since his route running ability is merely average. Harris could edge into seventh round consideration with a solid post-season testing performance, but he's likely to be relegated to UDFA status.
NFL.com has him as a 5th rounder so not that far off. Tells me that they are not so high on Tristan Jackson. He will be the #6 WR this year for chance to develop down the road. Wish we had taken G Trey Smith from Tennessee. If it weren't for medical would have been drafted higher. Worth a flier. Hope he available in 5th.
Yeah a development player who might be able to contribute to the redzone right away

Stuff I'm reading is that he's a project but they think he can contribute on STs right away.
I expected the Rams to draft a center... but it looks like I'm wrong.
So.. Corbett, Shelton or Kelly? Or is it going to be Reiter?
As for Interior OL, other than Center, they've got 2 young returning starters... a young returning backup with game experience and a guy they drafted last year who they seem to be positive about (Anchrum).
They've got a solid backup LT in Noteboom (He's a solid backup. He may not be your long term choice as starter.. but he's a very solid backup).. and Evans can also backup RT as well as Anchrum and Chandler Brewer.
The Rams won 11 games with basically the same guys and that was with Jared Goff as QB and fewer weapons than they'll have this year.
Someone in here has been saying Corbett for a few months now............

Every year people freak out about the rams draft. Even when the rams had Holmes people here freak out about the rams draft.
Ya gotta laugh at such fools. Draft Time is verbal masturbation Season for the Ignorant masses.

I've been one who said no to that. He hadn't done anything at the position and I really liked having the rest of the line intact. But... it's certainly looking like a very real possibility.
I know you have..........
Not saying Corbett will work but I think McVay is comfortable with his 2 guards coming from Edwards, Evans, or Noteboom. We know all now having game time playing experience.

The hill I'll die on here is that Noteboom won't be at guard ever again. Just ain't it. Anchrum will be.. he's built for it.
But.. yeah.. and I like being held to my takes!! I do like having this kind of talk with people looking deep into the Rams development patterns.
I do think there's a small chance they bring someone in from the outside... but it's small.
Agreed
Please no more Noteboom at Guard

Kiper had him as a mid to late pick
Maybe he’ll be our George Kittle, taken in the fifth round while the Rams took Gerald Everett in the second.
Or our Darren Waller, taken in the sixth as a WR.

So... we drafted a Ernest and a Earnest. This won’t get confusing. Lol.
Imagine to Michael Carters on one team.

If this strategy works , we should take Ernies from here on out

Perhaps Rams will have Harris play Tight End?
He's a move TE, imo.
But.. I've been wrong plenty, lol.
According to ESPN Harris lists at 6'5" 211. I believe Everett & Hopkins came in at 235-238 when drafted with frames projected to add up to 15-20 lbs. If Harris' line is accurate he seems more like Josh Reynolds with speed than a TE.

First UDFA Rams should be calling is Dylan Moses. Surprised he was not drafted.

Weeeeeee got the Funk.....and he's a White guy???
Like whitey white white... yes.
They say he’s like a Christian McCaffrey.
White lightening, welcome to LA.
So... back to the Oline again... anyone else puzzled?
I am assuming Rams management doesn't think our Oline is as bad as everyone else thinks it is going to be. Hopefully they know something we don't. Evidently they already have an answer for Center.

Yeah, but at the moment that answer at center was a guy beat out for the position by Blythe, who the Rams didn't bother resigning and signed with the Chiefs for less than $1M. You'll have to forgive the cause for concern.

I'm not going to be "concerned" until preseason if Allen is the starting center and if he looks overwhelmed.
Brian Allen biggest issue was his strength. The guy knows how to play the position but he was just too weak at times. I haven't seen him lately. I would love to know if he has gotten any stronger/bigger. Maybe he put on 20 pounds of muscle. I can dream cant I? Lol

Why didn't we pick up an OL position in the draft? Do we have some fee agent prospects/

We can dream. lol
But McVay specifically mentioned Corbett being able to move today. I had resisted that.. but it sounds like it may be heading that way.
The way McVay and Snead have talked about it.. I wonder if it's one of those things where Corbett's hesitant to do it and they keep talking about it to pressure him.
Wouldn't surprise me one bit if the rams move Corbett. The young guys all fight it out for the guard spots (hopefully not Noteboom)
Whit and Hav man the tackles with Note and maybe Evans backing the tackles.

Anchrum-Corbett-Edwards would be an interesting interior.
This is all good stuff. I think if you read between the lines of McVay's recent comments we may well be seeing Corbett at Center and Anchrum heavily in the mix at Guard.
Evans and Noteboom will remain as decent depth players at various positions. I assume Allen will remain backup center unless he's ousted at camp (which is a distinct possibility IMO).
Damn! That's damn good! See, this opens up more possibilities for us on offense. It wasnt a perfect draft by any means, but they knew who was a fit for what they're doing. Kudos to them. Which means they have some kind of faith in the offensive line guys they have now.

Rams have listed him as a TE
I was also wishing they would get Chazz Surratt. he killed it at the SR bowl and had a great Sr year at UNC.
