Well then what exactly is your definition of a "pretender"? In addition, do you put the current Rams in the same category? Of course, I still consider the 49ers to be "pretenders," however so are the Cowboys, obviously.
The 49ers teams of the 1980s were ones that I respected in terms of their ability, despite my deep personal dislike of them, however I don't feel the same way about the current version of our team's arch-rivals.
We'll see how the 49ers perform against a future Hall-of-Fame QB... :x :cry: :|

The energy that they played with for the whole game was pretty astounding. No one on that squad takes any plays off. If it weren't for Jimmy G's dumb int with about 8 minutes to go, the Niners win that one with plenty of room to spare.
TB got banged up in that game. Wirfs may not play this week and Jensen got banged up but will play. And Wirfs backup in banged up too.
