So We're Sticking with Karty?
I haven't read anything about his status. Lil Help!
The 9 ers are good even with their losses of key players.
WE need to sweep the remaining west games.

Re: So We're Sticking with Karty?
I'm gonna go ahead and say...it doesn't matter who is kicking. I generally love McVay, but I think HE is the problem with our kickers. Whoever comes in...will not be trusted to make a 50-yarder in a key moment, then will feel extra pressure to prove himself, then will miss, then will have less confidence from coach...rinse and repeat.

Re: So We're Sticking with Karty?
Karty is not going anywhere. Mcvay most likely won't use him for anything outside the 30. As others have already Said who is out there that is decent? Is there some guy no one has ever heard of in the CFL consistently kicking 60 yard field goals?

Me too-this IS the issue......can't believe Sean stuck with Chase a few years back when he had historically bad Special Teams stats.

Every screw up by Chase I blame Mcvay. He could have got him help or fired him.EastBayRamsFan wrote: ↑October 29th, 2025, 7:02 pmMe too-this IS the issue......can't believe Sean stuck with Chase a few years back when he had historically bad Special Teams stats.

Re: So We're Sticking with Karty?
I'm on the side that wants Karty gone but also agree with those that say what could we replace him with at this point in the season...
So I'm hopin whatever the problem is or was with Karty, that he straightens it out and gets the job done.
If he doesn't, then make a new Kicker an off season priority..

Has anyone on this board watched the San Diego State kicker? He missed a field goal in his first game his freshman year and has NEVER missed since. The Rams should take him in the draft.........hell the Rams should hire the SDSU Special Teams coach who also coached the best punter in the nation a few years back. That punter who was falsely accused of rape.

IF the guy is good mcvay sends him for 50 + yard kicks as he did plenty of times with GAY and greg the leg.Idaho_Ram wrote: ↑October 29th, 2025, 1:23 pm I'm gonna go ahead and say...it doesn't matter who is kicking. You know if Karty does not pan out, I think Sweeney here could be a great fill in... thoughts?
Let's just hope she's good at the 2 minute drill though... more like 18-40 second drill for me

Re: So We're Sticking with Karty?
That's not 100% accurate..when Greg The Leg was here he kicked plenty of 50 plus yard field goals. He had numerous kicks from beyond 50 yards, including a 53-yarder in Super Bowl LIII and a 57-yarder to win the NFC Championship game in 2019. So it's more a matter of trust with Mcvay and right now Mcvay probably trust his veteran QB a lot more and not so much with Karty. Our Coaches on Special Teams need to get their shit together and help Karty out by getting the OL straightened out!..and start building Karty's confidence and in-return gain the trust that is missing from McVay. Good Kickers aren't just sitting around waiting for that phone call especially this late in the season. This position requires one to have his head on straight..because Kickers can and do come down with a case of Yips.Idaho_Ram wrote: ↑October 29th, 2025, 1:23 pm I'm gonna go ahead and say...it doesn't matter who is kicking. I don't know about that..he can't keep his pecker to himself and that might not fit in with the Rams..But he is a good clutch Kicker..he will be asking too much anyway.

Re: So We're Sticking with Karty?
I don’t think he’ll be asking for anything. A bad team isn’t gonna feel a need to sign him given his baggage, and all the good teams already have established kickers. So I think his only option is going to a good team that has a bad kicker. Rams or Packers I think is who he goes too. Packers can’t be sold on McManusHenry VIII wrote: ↑October 30th, 2025, 9:11 amI don't know about that..he can't keep his pecker to himself and that might not fit in with the Rams..But he is a good clutch Kicker..he will be asking too much anyway.

Re: So We're Sticking with Karty?
I think that they see a young guy with a very strong leg who has made clutch kicks and who has tremendous potential. I also think that by not bringing in someone else they are trying to boost his confidence.
But what else are they doing with the line and with his approach? Do the Rams have a Munchak-type consultant working with him to improve his footwork and mindset?

Re: So We're Sticking with Karty?
Tucker wasn’t good at all in 2024. Lowest FG % of his career @ 73.3 and missed two extra points to boot. If we were watching Ravens games last year this was talked about a lot………….

Re: So We're Sticking with Karty?
Nick Folk of the New York Jets, who's having a great season despite the Jets' struggles offensively, would be a reasonable veteran to try and trade for if the Rams feel they need to upgrade at the position.

Re: So We're Sticking with Karty?
I don't know. Zuerlein went from 95% McVay's first year to 72% his third year, and then getting the boot. Gay had one decent season and then two GREAT seasons and we let him go.brasilrams wrote: ↑October 30th, 2025, 12:44 amIF the guy is good mcvay sends him for 50 + yard kicks as he did plenty of times with GAY and greg the leg.Idaho_Ram wrote: ↑October 29th, 2025, 1:23 pm I'm gonna go ahead and say...it doesn't matter who is kicking. Maybe my overall point is that we don't seem to handle kickers very well - finding them, grooming them, keeping them. But maybe that's just the reality of the NFL. Maybe I don't know what my point is at all. Carry on.

Re: So We're Sticking with Karty?
I don’t think they are confident in his leg strength at all. They hardly ever let him attempt 54+ yard kicks when tons of kickers in the NFL routinely kick thembigklein wrote: ↑October 30th, 2025, 9:44 am I think that they see a young guy with a very strong leg who has made clutch kicks and who has tremendous potential. Re: So We're Sticking with Karty?
Wow 2 XPs! Go look at how many Karty missed and Karty kicks indoors.
I’m willing to cut the greatest kicker in NFL history a break for one down season. Especially given that he’s still in his 30s.
You asked who was available. The greatest kicker in NFL history is after Week 10

You don’t need to trade any assets for anyone when Justin Fn Tucker is a free agent. At least try him first. It’s either the Rams or Packers.DelMar wrote: ↑October 30th, 2025, 11:00 am Nick Folk of the New York Jets, who's having a great season despite the Jets' struggles offensively, would be a reasonable veteran to try and trade for if the Rams feel they need to upgrade at the position.

Great you will give him a break…………………..
Just pointing out stats to the “stat guy”…………..
And you know the Rams are just waiting on him how………..
Any thought Rams may be thinking we let Dicker go and a few others and well let’s be a bit more patient here………..
Yes Tucker has had a great career but he didn’t last year. Truth! And oh what he was suspended for may actually mean something to the Rams FO. Funny he didn’t appeal the suspension because if he did the report would have been made public………………..
