Injury Updates:
Matthew Stafford, QB – Back
Stafford has now logged back-to-back practices that included individual work and full team drills. Coaches were encouraged by his ability to move in the pocket and handle rush situations. The team is still evaluating him daily, with particular attention to how his back responds the following morning, but so far, his workload is increasing without setbacks. If things keep trending in the right direction, expect him to play vs Houston in week 1. The only concern for him should be durability and lasting the entire season.
Willie Lampkin IV, C – Ankle/Knee
The rookie lineman left last weekend’s preseason game against the Chargers with lower-body injuries. Tests revealed a high-grade ankle sprain along with damage to the PCL in his knee. He’s expected to miss multiple weeks, which sidelines him for the rest of the preseason and potentially into the early part of the regular season if the team decides to keep him on the roster.
Lampkin is certainly a candidate for the PUP list.
Mario Williams, WR – Unspecified
Williams is listed as questionable. No new details have been released on his injury or timeline. The team released him on Tuesday with an injury designation. Williams could be a practice squad candidate when he returns.
Keir Thomas, LB – Injured Reserve
Thomas has been placed on injured reserve, which automatically rules him out for the first four regular-season games.
Alaric Jackson, OT – Blood Clots
Jackson has been steadily working back from medical setbacks. McVay said he has stayed on schedule with his rehab and is in strong physical condition as he ramps up activity. McVay is hopeful that he can go in Week 1.
Terrance Ferguson, TE – Groin
The Los Angeles Rams rookie tight end has been back on the field, taking part in team periods after being limited earlier this month. His return to practice is a good indication he’s on the mend.
Ronnie Rivers, RB – Ribs
Rivers has been sidelined since early August with a rib injury. While the team described his absence as lasting “a little bit of time,” he hasn’t been cleared for action yet.

Re: Injury Updates:
High ankle sprains take awhile. Pup woulda’t surprise me. (PCL makes me more nervous but evidently it wasn’t a tear.). I am still missing a PCL in my right knee.
Groins take awhile too. Can play with them but could take a whole season to heal. Most players are not 100% healthy once the season starts.
