Sanders pitched backing up Matthew Stafford
Colorado Buffaloes football great Shedeur Sanders pitched backing up Matthew Stafford on Rams, Los Angeles trade
Colorado Buffaloes football great Shedeur Sanders isn’t close to playing for the Cleveland Browns as the fourth quarterback on the depth chart, so many are trying to figure out where the “Grown QB” can go to have a chance to at least be a primary backup.
Dawg Pound Daily’s Mark Sipos believes the Los Angeles Rams make sense as a landing spot for Sanders to play behind Matthew Stafford and learn a system that’s tailor-made for his skillset.
“Matthew Stafford is still capable, but the Rams don’t have a clear succession plan. Sanders could sit behind him, learn the nuances of Sean McVay’s system, and grow into a potential starter down the line. His timing-based game and quick release would fit the scheme, and there’d be no pressure to play early,” Sipos wrote.
In many ways, Los Angeles is perfect for Shedeur.
Coach Prime’s youngest son has the celebrity that works in the City of Angels, but joining a franchise with a fanbase that’s not in the midst of a Super Bowl drought, like the Cleveland Browns or Buffalo Bills, means he won’t be dealing with fans severely lacking patience.
Like Baker Mayfield and Odell Beckham Jr., among others, Sanders could be a high-profile reclamation project who won’t dominate every headline. Stafford is still the man, having won the city a championship three years ago, and that wouldn’t change because of Sanders.
Who knows? Maybe Deion Sanders could make good on Paul Finebaum’s radio fodder and actually take over for Lincoln Riley at USC.
Los Angeles could become the next home of “Prime Time.”
It’s probably better suited for the Sanders family than Boulder anyway.

man I hope they don't trade for this clown. Yes he is accurate but this guy is not a leader. Let's see how well Deion does this yr. still not sold on him being a good coachDelMar wrote: ↑July 15th, 2025, 9:25 am Colorado Buffaloes football great Shedeur Sanders pitched backing up Matthew Stafford on Rams, Los Angeles trade

Re: Sanders pitched backing up Matthew Stafford
The Rams do have a plan AFAIC. Draft our QB of the future. Hopefully bringing in an overhyped ego and all the BS that accompanies that isn't it.
I agree with oc... I think both he and his dad as a coach aren't what the media's selling....
What he did in College doesn't guarantee shit.. A good example would be current Saints HC Kellen Moore. The guy had a phenomenal College Career going 49-3 as Boise States starter and had Boise Ranked 3rd in the AP poll at one point. Never did a damn thing as an NFL player but has turned into a decent Offensive coach. Compare his College stats to his short Pro career, His College career blows Deion's kid out of the water...
I'm a hard pass on S. Sanders.

Hard pass. He's overrated and we don't need the distraction.

Re: Sanders pitched backing up Matthew Stafford
Interesting idea.
Actually i would do this i.e. not much to lose (Stetson) but a lot to gain (talented and potential)... gives us a look and a year to see if he develops and could mean 2 number ones for other needs.
I think the Rams will keep distractions under control.
Depends on price though..
I can't see Stafford wanted this to go through though,

Why did he avoid combine? But he did interviews. Lots of red flags.

You see the Browns QB depth chart right? Its a complete dumpster mess. And you want the guy who is #4 in that mess? The #4 QB on the worst QB depth team in the league? Re: Sanders pitched backing up Matthew Stafford
I dont want this kid whats so ever. Just cut and pasted a story that was interesting. Hope this never happens. I mean, the 'me not we' thing destroys all credibility w the Rams anyways. Not a good fit at allocram23 wrote: ↑July 21st, 2025, 9:22 amthis^Ramsfan08ny wrote: ↑July 21st, 2025, 6:02 am

Sanders to the Rams isn't even a rumor. Just a freelance guy who wrote an article pitching the idea of Shedeur Sanders to the Rams. Trying to make a case of why it could be good for both sides. As long as he gets the clicks and views objective is achieved.

Re: Sanders pitched backing up Matthew Stafford
I usually don't put much stock in what the "talking heads" report....but after all the backlash was let out out of the bag, regarding his interviews with teams...and that was very evident on draft day....and just how entitled he seems to be....I want no parts of him
