The kids look like they're having fun, plus they'll likely remain big-time Rams fans as adults, which is the important part of the experience for them...

Lol - The Rams bought them off because a Pop Warner team had better gear.

If you're referring to our team's current uniform designs, my understanding is three more years minimum, per the league's policy.
However, I'm doubtful that there will be any immediate serious changes, even after that--the franchise leadership is obviously attempting to create a lasting, modern team 'brand' targeting the 18-to-34 age dynamic.
Feel free to dislike that fanbase-building approach and denounce it all you wish, however that won't stop it from continuing to be implemented, I'm figuring... ;) 8-)

Considering that every Ram fan I know refuses to buy the new gear, one can only wonder how much ‘fanbase-building’ actually results from the Best Buy pajamas and broken horns.
btw - the Rams will grow their fan base 50 times more by winning a Super Bowl than they ever will with the worst uniforms in the league.

Of course, assuming that such a victory occurs (hopefully in less than three weeks), whatever uniform the Rams would be wearing at the time will be associated with that great athletic triumph, in most of the fans' minds. Likewise for the various uniform combinations worn by the players during that regular season and their postseason run, to some degree.
I'm not running the franchise's marketing department, and I lack the expertise to 'second-guess' its decisions, however its basic reasoning is obvious.
What I do know is that strongly disliking any particular situation won't make it go away... ;) :? 8-)

I'm remembering Roman Gabriel and Deacon Jones, Merlin Olsen and Jack Youngblood (obviously), Vince Ferragamo and Nolan Cromwell, Jackie Slater and Eric Dickerson, Kurt Warner and Marshall Faulk, Isaac Bruce and Orlando Pace, Steven Jackson and Marc Bulger, Johnny Hekker and Todd Gurley, Aaron Donald and Cooper Kupp, etc.
When I see the Rams take the field, I'm feeling the lifelong link between NFL franchise and true-blue fan...

Re: Look at these helmets....My GOD, it hurts inside. It really does!
Many fans when they were young chose the RAMS as their team because of the helmet design and colors. I'm not sure there are many fans from other teams that can say this. The helmets were always at or near the top of the best helmet lists of many fans. The complete horn was the team's mark. There was no reason to change this. Thicken it? Yup! But sodomize it? No! I find it very peculiar that you and some other old folk on here don't comprehend this and actually support this travesty.Commish wrote: ↑January 27th, 2022, 10:58 amWell, I think of the team that I've cheered for, through successful periods and unsuccessful ones, wearing various uniform combinations and located in different places, over long decades.

They do suck, and obviously the uniforms can be discussed independently of anything else occurring. We'll all be overjoyed should the Rams win it all right now holy shit, but I will still forever say, "wow the uniforms were bad."Ramsfan08ny wrote: ↑January 27th, 2022, 11:44 amKind of like saying "keep fumbling Akers, Rams win when ever you fumble twice . sure, Fournette didn't fumble, he'll look real good at home this weekend".armyram wrote: ↑January 26th, 2022, 8:26 pm Sorry fellas… when the Rams take the field, the last thing I think about is the uniforms. I still love how the Rams won't allow REAL throwbacks to be worn. I mean, we don't want the fans seeing what they really like back on the field. Yes, I waited years for the Rams to return to LA (it was a dream come TRUE)...years to buy Rams gear - still waiting on that part (nightmare).

Re: Look at these helmets....My GOD, it hurts inside. It really does!
The "problem" is, and will remain, Kevin Demoff. He's got little real football background or acumen. And he was hired primarily because of his Daddy's connections across the NFL.
Basically, Kevin-boy was/is a dilettante who got where he is by family pull, and he very clearly lacks expertise at anything in particular. He screwed up PR with the St Louis fan base and his ignorance of the Rams history in Southern California has led him to totally screw up our signature appearance and irritated yet another fan base in the process. The guy is an empty suit and has no more business in the Ram's front office than my golden retriever. Oh wait...my retriever wouldn't have screwed up the Ram's helmets/unis.

I mean I do wear reading glasses from time to time but I’m rewatching the game now on NFL Network and the uniforms don’t bother me in the least. Yes, I prefer the traditional uniforms. Now Akers giving the ball up on the one bothers me, even on the replay!UtahRam wrote: ↑January 27th, 2022, 9:17 amYou must be blind then because as soon as I see them on the field I think of them. No bro, fumbling the ball is a recipe for losing…. That’s a FACT. Your taste in uniforms…. That’s an OPINION! As for your analogy… if the uniforms, which is part of the Rams suck so bad but yet we are in the Conference Championship and possibly to the SB… see how silly that sounds. I’m not crazy about these new uniforms, But at this point in the season, Brother, they can come out in hot pink for all I care as long as they beat the Niners and move on.Ramsfan08ny wrote: ↑January 27th, 2022, 11:44 amKind of like saying "keep fumbling Akers, Rams win when ever you fumble twice . sure, Fournette didn't fumble, he'll look real good at home this weekend".armyram wrote: ↑January 26th, 2022, 8:26 pm Sorry fellas… when the Rams take the field, the last thing I think about is the uniforms. Ummmm, so the Rams DIDN'T wear your personal definition of "REAL throwbacks" at home on numerous occasions during the 2016-19 seasons (four years), and even in Super Bowl LIII, is that it?

Ummmm, I don't think that it takes "balls" for the Rams to wear the royal-blue-&-canary-yellow 'throwbacks,' I'm figuring that not doing so is a marketing decision having nothing to do with courage or cowardice. You can still order those kind of jerseys, I have a 1979 'throwback' (Jack Youngblood, obviously) purchased while the Rams were still in St. Louis. They might be a touch pricey these days, yet they clearly are available online.
However, I'm highly doubtful that our team will be wearing them on the playing field at any time in the near future, I simply don't envision that as part of the franchise's marketing approach... ;) :?

Yep you pointed that out, proving you are missing my point by doing so. Yes, the team wore them (actual throwbacks) BEFORE the current toddler pajama uniforms were released. Not since tho. Why? Why hold back the exact beloved uniforms of the past all of a sudden...
It's a well-known fact that the new uniforms have not been well received overall. I think it's fair to say (conservatively speaking) that at least half of Rams nation dislikes them (?). I doubt many fans of the NFL cares for them in general as well (from my own personal experience with friends of other teams). Whatever, I know I don't stand alone by any means.
So yes, the Rams don't have the BALLS to allow real throwbacks to any longer be worn. It would obviously just continue to bring up the controversy should they be brave enough to display what superior actual uniforms look like in comparison. They don't want the comments and articles to again reappear describing the superior look. Instead we get some mutated imitation of the "throwbacks", a joke of a homage so to speak.
And yeah, I would simply prefer to order merchandise that represents a current uniform, so again no, not the current crapshow we have been handed.

In that case, I'd venture that you're just 'SOOL,' so to speak!
Presumably the "modern throwback" variation, introduced this season, is intended to be worn as our team's 'throwbacks.'
