Regardless the Niners once again making McVay and the Rams their bitches I cannot believe the Rams will not beat the Cards.
I’m usually never sure about my team but for some reason I feel we win by at least two scores.

Re: Cards @ Rams (1st Round)... Who you got and why?
Defensively DM we are not stopping their passing attack if we don’t get to Murray. The entire game hinges on this teams ability to get to him because our secondary and coverage scheme has shown it’s not good. This isn’t changing come Monday.
They also know what Shanahan did in the second half last Sunday. I suspect they will try to duplicate trying to run the ball early. If they are successful Rams are in big trouble…………….
AZ defensive is ranked in the middle of the pack in both trying to stop the run as well as pass. So yes, music to a few in here, McVay has to have a balance attack on Monday. Play action important after you have shown you are going to run as much as you pass…………..
Offensively Rams have to avoid 3rd and long situations. Happening way too much lately. You throw on first and it’s incomplete then you need to run on second down and try to get into a manageable 3rd down situation. OL just is too consistent in pass protection on 3rd and long. Take a page McVay out of David Shaw’s playbook on 2nd and 10 at Stanford. You run on that down and distance………..
I think this team will have to score 30+ to win. I have that little faith in the D right now…………..

And it goes without saying they have to be on the plus side with the turnover battle………….

Doesn't this scenario kind of mirror the same situation we had with the Hawks last season.?
They beat us...
We beat them...
then we beat them again in the PO's...

Re: Cards @ Rams (1st Round)... Who you got and why?
This one is a real toss-up. The Cards are great on the road and the Rams have no home-field advantage anyway. I'm going with the Rams on the assumption that last week's 2nd half collapse may have had something to do with both them knowing that they were already in the playoffs anyway and watching the Hawks-Cards score on the board. The Niners, conversely, were playing for their playoff lives and could see that they weren't going to get any help from the Falcons against NO. As a result, the energy levels seemed to completely flip at the half. Now, it's win or go home for everyone so I'm counting on seeing intensity for the whole 60 minutes.

Unfortunate thing is the Cards have already proven they can win in So Fi this season. I expect a very run heavy gameplan from them as they try and copy the 9ers plan against us. I have a bad feeling about this game. Weddle? Rams feel desperate.

Ummmm, well, the word is "prognosticator," like Nostradamus.
Thank you for defending my decades-long loyalty to our team by pointing out that intensely disliking the 49ers doesn't somehow disqualify someone from being a Rams fan--that's an extremely bizarre assertion anyway, I would venture.
(Since I've mentioned cheering for the Gabriel-Olsen-Jones-Snow versions of the Good Guys, obviously you're correct about me being an 'old school' fan, however I haven't been especially upset by changes in the game over the past half-century.)
Unfortunately, I must agree with you concerning the difficulty of defeating the Packers at home during the postseason, unless the opponent has a future first-ballot, Hall-of-Fame QB on its roster... :? :P

I get you and was what I was trying to point out to DM. And that hate for that team is just as equal here. And we have over the years, I think it dates back to the post dispatch days(I had another forum name) agreed a lot. I just think your a bit misguided with your comments regarding playing the niners and our team not caring enough or putting forth the effort to beat them. And that’s fine but as you know lol I’ll state if I don’t agree.
And yes I was a little guy but I can remember beingin the Coliseum on a Snow TD in the corner or the end zone I think against Minnesota. I also remember being there to see the 0-14 Bucs. 14 game season that dates us a bit……
I’ll talk about GB when we get there…………

Tight game. Rams D not striking the fear in anyone, but they do seem to be able to rattle Murray. My prediction would be much different if Hopkins was playing
Arizona benefitting from home field advantage keeps it close
Rams 31
Zona - 27
And, like in most of their wins, Rams have to defend a late Cardinal drive to secure the win.
Then off to Tampa to play them next week.

This is a 50-50 game.
A team that spent this much to be "all in" should not have a toss up game, in the first round, at home.

As you can see from this season, a lot of parity in the league. There's no sure win for anyone this year.D-GenerationX wrote: ↑January 13th, 2022, 6:31 am This is a 50-50 game.

Part of the reason we got rid of Goff was his complete failure against the 49ers. he was sloppy with the ball, couldn't hold leads, etc.
Well...what happened this year? New QB, same exact stuff.
This is not an endorsement of Goff. He had to go. But how much better off are we with Stafford?

The #2 seed is just a extra home game. Rams doesn't have a real home field advantage anyway.
The rams didn't get Stafford just to beat the niners, the rams got Stafford bc they felt it would give them a better opportunity to get and win the SB.
Rams as the 4th seed got a highly favorable matchup against the cards. Imo the Niners will win next week against Dallas. Again the rams get a reasonable matchup against Tampa. Whether the rams have to go to Green Bay in the NFC Championship game or play the Niners in LA. Either way, the rams will not have a home field advantage.

What defense will show up, the one that stopped them in Arizona or the one that let the Cards put up 37 @ SoFi?

My concern is Stafford starts slow again and delivers another pick 6 early. Rams Defense is kind of middle of the pack this year, Offense has to be great in the playoffs. Not sure we have enough up front on the O line to make a deep run.

Well, under Sean McVay's coaching, Jared Goff did start out 3-0 vs. the 49ers.D-GenerationX wrote: ↑January 13th, 2022, 12:29 pm

I'll certainly take that over how Matthew Stafford has done against them thus far, as our team's QB... :( :?
