Not sure how I feel on this yet. 32 year old vet. Performance has dropped off a bit, but I am sure he's still a stud on some level?
"George Allen returns from the grave after Halloween!"

The guy's at the age at which performance can be expected to decline somewhat, this strikes me as a totally short-term move.

If the Rams don't win Super Bowl LVI, it seems as though this trade won't look nearly so good next year... :(

No worries

Playing next to AD will reverse most of the decline that Von has experienced over the years.

The AD factor is real.

Von is about to face a huge dose of 1 vs 1 and 1 vs backs and tight ends. If teams try to give Von attention, then Flo sack numbers will just increase at a higher pace.

ALL IN........Ans yes- AD factor has proven real. He should be paid a portion of these contracts they land after a nice season with AD taking half the OL himself.

Well now this changes everything. The likes of Murray and Jackson are contained. They can't get away with doubling Donald. Coverage schemes can now change to a man/zone combo disguise that IMO you have to be Rodgers or Brady to eventually figure it out. For the rest of the leagues QB's this is going to wreak havoc with sacks and turnovers.

This. Let LewBo stay fresh. Then unleash them when necessary. I was a T-Lew fan when he played for Alabalama. Yessir. This signing just got me feeling all warm n fuzzy.

The really important thing is to dramatically reorganize the office assignments in the Rams' front-office operation... 8-)

I am a little concerned with giving up a 2nd and 3rd for a player for 9 games and the playoffs. My guess is 1 of the picks was for Denver to pay the $9M. Also, if we do not resign him dont we get a compensatory pick if he leaves as a free agent?

Yes and since he is a 10 year vet the highest the pick can be is a 5th.

2 high picks for 9 games do suck on the surface but the rams are trying to win now. High risk move but I'm cool with it.

I think we should make it a clean sweep and give away our two pics left in 2022... This way, we can all just plan vacations at draft time. Will be nothing to watch.

Kidding of course, but the draft will be very boring next season... which i'm ok with that if we continue to do this well.

McSnead are def breaking barriers when it comes to the draft VS gaining Vet players.
For way too many years thinking about the draft at this time of the year was all we had. We have a next opponent and a season to live for...why focus on next year's draft? The chips have been pushed to the center with both hands enjoy the ride!!! Go Rams NOW!!!

More than likely So-Fi will be hosting both the Combine and the Draft, the Rams just won't be interested in either.

I've read that it was two second-day draft choices for 2022, however this is an extremely high-risk trade since it's basically for a half-season (and hopefully postseason) 'rental.'

Only our team winning Super Bowl LVI would justify it, I'm figuring... :o

From what I read, we still have about 8 draft picks even after this deal. Most of em are in the last three rounds. I wouldn't be worried especially how well we draft in those late rounds.

Do you have a problem with their success over the past five years? Drop the pathos logo it has gotten old. You seemed much happier posting on the St. Louis Post Dispatch when the Rams sucked and were the laughing stock of the league. Get out from under the wet blanket already...

Honestly, some folks here dont even deserve the competence and efficiency of this Organization.
agreed, they have thrown out the book and so far it is working...I'm thrilled they are not satisfied with going 9 and 8 like some organizations such as the Vikings are...be bold or stay home!

Love seeing that about run-stuffing.

Am seeing Bronco fans saying he was really coming on and still being double-teamed.

This is going to be interesting.

To those trying to gauge the value, it’s a total ‘WIN NOW’ move.

If they get the gold ring it’s totally worth it. If not……

That’s still a long ways off but I can’t argue against it. Stafford has provided a huge enhancement for the O and this seems like a very nice upgrade on D. They can’t double team both VM & AD.

Since you mention it, I posted my uniform design here long ago. With new uni's we need a whole new logo design. How about these?

I can't take credit for the Ram head, just the horns on the head.

One more thing. I believe the trade was made with only one thing in mind. Stop Kyler Murray. I think the Rams believe he is the only obstacle in their way to the Super Bowl.

Talk about going all in. 2nd and 3rd rounder for this guy? I hope he has something still left in the tank because he was a great player several years ago.

Me too. My guess is the Jags wasn't willing to eat that huge contract like Denver was willing to do with Von.

How on earth can teams possibly double team...

1) Donald
2) Floyd
3) Miller

and then we also have Hollins & Lewis wreaking havoc too...

^ This is just nuts guys!

The Rams LB core went from one of our biggest concerns this season to now probably the most mouth-watering out there in the NFL, pretty much overnight.

I would have thought Obo would be faster than Von to contain the Murray type QB. Maybe Von plays smarter and contains better? No way his speed is same as it was when he got that MVP.

Don't forget that Von doesn't just bring his own skillset to the fold in games, but can also provide his own experiences and techniques in the form of teachings to those already on our roster within training sessions and walkthroughs.

Yup

He came from Vic system out there in Denver. A leader, experienced and knows what it takes to win a SB. Another coach on the field without having to hire another coach.
